[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far very good. Quite , removes water quickly .Nice water drainage options ! Tho I think the system would be even better, if the air discharge was on the side not on the top ! I am a lic. H.V.A.C man !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a very good dehumidifier. It dries the air pretty quickly. I have a 50- pint It's a bit noisier than the 35-pint one that I owned before, but it's not a big problem. It has a large bucket and a hose for the case if I want to use the pump. The only "but" is the pump option which I was not able to turn on, but probably I don't quite understand how it works.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the GE Dehumidifier APYR50LC in my 1,400 sq. ft. basement, and it's been absolutely amazing. It keeps the humidity under control effortlessly, and I've noticed a big difference in the air quality — no more damp or musty smell! What really stands out is how efficient it is. Unlike my old dehumidifier that ran constantly, this one doesn't need to run 24/7 to get the job done. It cycles on and off as needed, saving energy and keeping things perfectly comfortable. The build quality feels solid, it's easy to empty and clean, and the controls are simple and clear. Overall, it's been a great investment — quiet, powerful, and energy-smart. Highly recommend for anyone looking to keep a basement dry and fresh without the constant noise or energy use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything about this is just like the last one we had, which died after about eight months. So far, we've had this for about a month and a half, and it's still working fine, filling up quickly on humid days and nights. It's nice and quiet and holds a lot.
I've owned six GE dehumidifiers, and only two are still working. The remaining four failed within 6 to 18 months of normal basement use, all displaying the common E06 error. These are not being used in extreme conditions—just a typical residential environment. GE offered a partial credit toward replacement units through a so-called "certificate of goodwill," but it doesn't cover the full cost. Add to that the hassle of going through the warranty process, and it's simply not worth it. One of the working units has lasted about two years, but with this kind of failure rate, I won't be purchasing another GE dehumidifier. Very disappointed in the reliability and support.
4 months and it goes into E5 and E6. I have gotten no help from GE I would NOT RECOMMEND this product. It is impossible to get a new one, since we bought it on-line. DONOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
Purchased this unit because a friend had it and liked it. His has been working for over a year. I've owned it for about 9 months and it continues to throw an error code of E6. Unplugged and restart and it runs for about 5 minutes and throws the code again. Would opt for a different brand. Getting the certificate due to the warranty. However, it won't cover the current cost of the unit.
It's showing the notorious error code Eb/E6. It can turn on and run for 10-30 minutes, no water coming out and it will show the error code and stop afterwards. Unplugging or resetting did not help. The unit still looks new. We probably poured water out less than 30 times during this 18 months so it is definitely not in heavy use...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The humidifier operated well during the couple of months that I had it at the end of summer. I reduced the rating because this is the third GE dehumidifier I have had in three years. The previous two failed during the warranty period with the same fatal error code. I fully expect this one to fail next summer.
Like most, this unit failed, twice, within 6 months. E6 error, and thankfully i keep a pan underneath it because it leaked all over the place at one point. GE warranty was good and was able to replace it, just a hassle not knowing if you'll walk into your space with humidity being high again because the unit failed.
