I love this A/C!!! I took a chance on this one because I returned a different one from a different (supposedly better) company. The other a/c unit was VERY noisy.... THIS one is so quiet! It's in my bedroom and I get a good nights sleep with it. The remote control is great so I can adjust it without getting up. I bought it in 2019 and waited a year before I reviewed it.... thought Id give it time to see how well it preformed. Well, I am very impressed. Give this a shot. Great a/c for an amazing price.
worked great cooled my 39 ft camper in 90 deg heat
Been using this a.c. unit all summer and I have to say I am quite happy with it. The air gets ice cold and the unit doesn't make much noise. It's the perfect size for my bedroom.
Compact and works well. This was exactly what I wanted. I got 2 and I have no complaints.
I am very pleased with this windows unit by GE. Everything works perfectly. It is relatively quiet. The ECO mode works great. I have been dismayed at some of GE's products in the past. I felt that the general quality was descending. However, that can't be said about their AC Units. I also have a 5,000 BTU unit that looks exactly the same and it is just as good. My only wish would be that the vent controls could be directly adjusted vertically and horizontally instead of the angled, rotation controls that are used. It's a minor nit-pick.
It started getting really hot in my apartment and I have no central AC. I spent countless hours trying to buy my first AC and I don't regret my choice. Setting up the GE 6,000 AC was easy peasy lemon squeesy. You might need two people, but I'm handicap missing arms and was able to do it. I like the size of the ac and the fact it comes with a remote. It goes down to only 64 but to me that's good enough to cool the entire room or living room. ( bought two) I was afraid it would not cool an entire room but it pushes beyond it's limit. One thing I would suggest is getting something to seal the side panels because it does contain some tiny gaps. Other than that I'm very happy. No more suffering in the heat.
The air conditioner itself is adequate for the intended purpose of cooling a small area. However, the sliding side enclosures which are intended to close the remaining portion of the window not occupied by the unit itself are certainly less than adequate. I would suggest closing the side curtain areas with Styrofoam panels both to close off the gaps in the side curtains between the unit and the window frame and stop the flow of conditioned air from the room to the outside. Also, it would be nice if the conditioned air could be directed upward instead of straight out of the unit changed only by the adjustment knob to side to side flow. See the as installed with Styrofoam and the removable baffle I created and installed to create upward flow.
Bottom doesn't fit level in windows one side is higher. Had to shim it up. Louvers send air one way only very cheap. Does not cool room that the Frigidaire 5500 BTU did. May just throw it away. First time used. Worthless.
Had a G.E. 6000 btu I used in my bedroom for years it was great. So bought this as a replacement. Kept waking up in the night with a sweat soaked pillowcase. The air conditioner was running. The temperature was set for 68 degrees. This will be a return.
Went from a 13 year old ac to a new 5000 btu to this kept walking drenched in sweat got tired and went and bought a 5000 btu frigidaire which works perfectly. Simply got tired of having to wait in line to exchange them
