GE Appliances 12,000 BTU Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner

Just got this A/C installed yesterday. For the price and for my needs, it is a perfect purchase. The options are easy to navigate, and the Wi-Fi is working with the SmartHQ app on my phone. It's only been one day, but I am sure this will be a solid purchase.

Very quiet, cools off well even in eco mode. I also like the wi-fi capability so that I can cool down the room before I get home.

Very pleased with this product, it is extremely quiet compared to my last unit. I love the fact that it has a remote control because of my mobility issues and the ability to control it from my WiFi is an added bonus. The sleep setting will save me money on my electric bill along with its efficiency rating.

Installed 09/25/24 - To new to give a full operational review. However unit installation was very easy and WiFi setup straightforward. Unit is working fine - but late in the year to give a full summer experience Review, X Can only hope for the best for 2025.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Possible manufacturing defect... when I removed the filter to clean it, I noticed there was a half inch separation/gap between the left side of the air filter holder and the gray strip of material covering the interior of the air conditioner. My question: Is this gap part of the overall design or is this a manufacturing defect and, if so, does the gap affect the overall performance/operation of the air conditioner? Also, I have found that the inner grill (gold color) collects dust even when a clean filter is in place. Removing dust from the inner grill is quite labor intensive. The use of a vacuum cleaner's crevice tool easily risks damaging the grill 'teeth' by mashing them together impacting the air flow. Question: What is the recommended method of cleaning dust from the inner grill? Overall, I found the air conditioner to be nosier than I expected but I can live with it.

AC unit works great, love the remote, WiFi, and the different settings. It is a little on the noisy side. Unfortunately mice have made their way into mine and are working on chewing out the foam insulation. I've had to take it apart best I can to fill with mice traps. Not sure if this is a common problem with this particular AC, but it's pretty open on the outside part of it.

Doesn't cool the room efficiently or quickly like the other GE model we had. Plus the design on this one does not let the airflow direct upwards enough like the other. This one blows right on the back of our necks

Only worked for 1-1/2 months before it went dead! Paid to have it installed, but for the service work, I had to hire somebody to come over and take it out of the wall for me so I could bring it in and now when it's ready after the service I have to go and pick it back up and hire someone again to put it back in the wall not happy with that.

It does not drain out any water and the parts get rusty and it stops working this is the 2nd one which is a replacement for a faulty one i received however GE won't give me a receipt so if this breaks i won't be able to have proof bad product
