[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a simple dryer with easy to use features. Can operate without a manual and it's a solid choice in a world full of more and more complex options. Sometimes simple and easy is the best route to go! This is that dryer!
Plenty of room for larger loads. Multiple settings for smaller delicate items. Hasn't left me stranded yet!
After using an expensive front loader, this is much better!! The settings are straightforward with no unnecessary buttons, settings, etc. I appreciate how the cottons and casuals settings slowly cool down before ending, this allows my cotton clothing to actually sit in the dryer until I am able to unload them without becoming wrinkled!! This has been a major win at my house!!! My front loader didn't do this!
Was happy with the dryer but at 2.5 years, the dryer has stopped heating. Home breakers not the issue.
The dryer arrived damaged, It appears to be a very nice product by GE, but for it to arrive in the condition it did and I have to pay for this is very not customer friendly, I was afraid it would not eork called the seller and left a message, so far crickets, no one has called me to even attempt to see what can be done
I had only had it 3 years and it stopped heating. They don't make things like they used to. When it works it works well, but it doesn't work. One day it was great, next day nothing.
Bought one of these dryers in June 2023 and it has worked great. However, less than 3 years later, a critical wire component to the heating element has fried, requiring replacement. Recommendation was to replace the wire and heating element at about 60-70% cost of the dryer itself. Band aid fix cost about 1/3 the price of the dryer. The dryer works great, just may not last long before you need to make repairs/replace it.
Do not recommend. Thought the interior light was a great function, however, drawstrings get caught on it all the time and after two weeks it no longer worked. Drawstrings also get caught and melt. All of my pants with drawstrings had to be tied before they were put in the dryer. Additionally, within two years, the motor went out. Do not recommend.
Not happy with the dryer at all. Lint trap is too small, only the tiniest of pieces actually make it in to the trap. We have pets and with pets, you get hair. Pet hair will cluster around the outside of trap but is too large to be sucked in. Consequently, when you open the door to remove a load, all lint/hair that didn't make it in to the trap will either fall out on to the floor or fall back in to the dryer all over the clean clothes. And because the lint trap is located in the base of the door casing, there's no way to avoid it. Every time you dry a load, be prepared to vacuum as well.
The dryer stop heating after 3 years. The issue is the common "Purple wire of death" that got burnt which is connected to the heating element (Google it, it is a common issue with these dryers). It is insane to me that they sell this product with this known and dangerous issue. Now I will buy a new dryer from a different brand since the repair kit they sell can have the same dangerous issue. I would recommend people to change the appliance brand from now on.
