GE APPLIANCES APFD05JASW PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot believe how well this little GE portable air conditioner works our friend bought it at the beginning of the year and never used it other than one time and then they decided to go with a bigger unit they packed it all back up nicely but still we had our doubts when it was tiny and two it was used this has been the most incredible little air conditioner and it does everything we needed to do incredibly reliable worth what we paid for it and definitely worth what our friends paid for it so I only recommend new GE appliances but I most definitely recommended well taken care of secondhand to eat appliances they're worth the money they're worth the time there's things that don't last very long anymore but I do feel like to eat appliances are from the old school and are still hanging on to those standards.

The plastic exhaust tubing is cheap as all hell but the a/c unit itself performs strongly and I've got a 10x15 room in a sub-tropical and sweltering summertime climate. Pros: Gets the room very cold even down to 63* Farenheit at nighttime. The unit is assembled with quality construction. It's fairly quiet considering. Easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. Cons: GE could've splurged a tad more on the exhaust tubing, it's bottom of the barrel and crunches easily. The led lighting on top is far too bright at night for sleeping, it must be covered up with a cloth or else you'll be up all night with soft blue lighting in your room. The dry mode is virtually useless in very humid climates. I live in the deep south. Usually after an hour of dry mode the unit beep the alarm that it's full which means disconnecting the exhaust tube, rolling the unit outside and drain it... a little annoying. Overall though at around 4 bills including tax and a 3 year warranty through Lowe's, it's a great unit. The cons in this for me personally are minor because in the end this thing pumps it out and will cool a room nicely. I recommend it 100%

We love this unit. Our bedroom is an add-on and doesn't get a lot of cool air with the main unit. This has been a great product. Gets the room cold! Definitely recommend.

I've had this unit for years and it's still going strong. Actually came back to see what BTU it was because I'm going to buy another one for upstairs.

Easy 30 minute set-up. Using in a 152 sq. ft. bedroom with 9 1/2 ft. ceilings, so was concerned if we should have gone with a bigger unit but it is keeping us cool and decreasing humidity. Works just as well as window units we have in several other rooms.

Fantastic little machine. We have gone through a few ac units and this one just keeps going and going. It stays cool and it's small and portable. It is also quite quiet.

Small unit that packs a punch. Great for cooling off a large room. Although it could be a bit troublesome on the ears. The noise emitted from this unit is not that bad in comparison to other brands.

The unit itself works ok, but the hose connection is from another planet. Whoever designed the hose connection is in need of help.

Installation is terrible, the hose is to big, collapses as you screw it in. Spent an hour on it, used tools to fit it in there.
