[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This GE 12 Volt Refrigerator works great I tested freezer & frig with thermometer after 24 hours turning on 0 degrees in frezezer 35 degrees in frig set on cold the middle setting ambient temp outside was 71 degrees during daytime . I took out old absorption style that came factory with camper . Now with this GE 12 Volt refrigerant we can have anything we would have in our home refrigerator. . Worth every penny & the effort of installing . A++ Product From GE
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this 12 V GE refrigerator for my camper to replace the old one. So far so good for the first trip planning another trip where we will be primitive camping so we will see how it goes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is in are toy haler only problem is it comes open during travel needs a latch on it should be on before it is sent out.
It's a little louder than my old fridge. Was fast cooling down. The mounting bracket would be nice to have with the fridge. I need to order it as it would fall over out of the slide with out it. The real bummer is glass shelves in an RV Fridge....really? Hit one bump and crash goes the shelves. Other than that it runs off my 100 wat solar setup just fine. No power company blues. Nice and cold fast. Nice layout in the door cubbies and 12v way more room than a evap set up. 5 stars when you get rid of the glass. I'm making some stainless shelves.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought an Aurora rv by Forest River and it came with GE Profile stainless steel appliances. They look great and are happy with them except the fridge. It does not keep a consistent temperature and seems to run constantly. It was rather noisy until I leveled it out and adjusted the bracket that was installed with it in the cabinet. We have a thermometer in the refer and the temp varies from 35° to 48°f while barely adjusting the temp knob. During this adjustment the freezer varies from hard as a rock ice cream to melting ice cream. Annoying!
Freezer sometime works but most of the time it dose not. I have tried the GE support after registration but no one will get back to me. There is no tech anywhere around me so I think that may be the DELAY. Yes it has adequate voltage so not sure why it does what it does. And yet it's turned up all the way.
This fridge is basically junk. It has had issues since new. Fails to keep a consistent temperature. Fridge randomly turns off by itself. GE is a solid company, but this fridge was obviously built on the Monday after the Super Bowl.
This is our second. The first one died when still under warranty. The new one died just after the warranty was up. This refrigerator is not dependable and only lasts for about a year.
This is the poorest, not-yet-ready-for-prime-time DC RV fridge in the industry. It overcomes the 200w solar panel, and will run a dual-set of fully-charged 6v AGM batteries TOTALLY FLAT in about 30 hours. It only works when it wants to; when our RV is plugged in between trips, we'll frequently find it not running (in any way, shape or form - battery, shore power, solar - whatever) and our food spoiled. The Winnebago dealership wouldn't put a propane/electric in the unit, and this is simply JUNK.
Our prior GE fridge stopped cooling after 8 months of use. We live in our 5th wheel full time. We bought this brand new and had it installed by an RV tech in April 2025. It stopped working after 8 months of use. This brand and model fridge only works for 8 months. Will never buy again.
