Exploding door front glass

Smd69 June 11, 2026

Door front glass just shattered for no reason. Good thing my grandkids or dog weren't in the kitchen when it happened. If GE doesn't take care of this, I will never buy another GE appliance regardless of type.

You're STUCK

Carolyn and Timothy March 11, 2020

The burners are the issue and there is no ( NO) recourse. Can't can or boil water on this stove or any other new electric stove with "new technology" burners. And they ALL have these burners. Burner shuts down when any water starts to boil. "Not recommended for canning" they say. NO KIDDING. Forget water bathing! Had 3 burners going on high heat to finish off this season's maple syrup, rotating to a red hot burner as the one underneath shut down. Pity the candy makers who will buy this atrocious stove whose burners shut down JUST when they need that specific boil. Have told everyone I know to keep their old stoves. Switch to gas it you can. You've been warned.

No! These Safety Burners Are Junk!

macygray December 22, 2019

Wish to return this stove, it is still under its one year warranty. The safety burners don't work properly and we are not buying a whole new set of cookware just so we can operate this range. GE tech was here to replace a defective burner and now we have two more defective burners.

Hate the Sensi-Temp burners

Veteran Cook April 30, 2019

I'd love to give this stove a better review, as the design, overall features, appearance are all good. The oven is nice and big with 5.3ft3. However the Sensi-Temp technology in the coil burners is a deal killer. I thought they were a good idea, thinking that if you were careless and burned the pan dry, it would shut off. Rather, the burner cycles on and off automatically while cooking---even before your pasta or tea water has come to a boil. I'm a veteran cook; I know how to pay attention to the stove, and some foods MUST be done at high heat--jams & jellies, stir fry, etc. I wish I could just turn the burner down manually when I determine that it's too hot. This is the first brand new stove I've ever had at age 61 and now I'm stuck with it.

WORST range I've ever used.

Infuriated September 23, 2019

If I could rate this minus 5, I would. The feature that down regulates the temperature makes it impossible to boil pasta before it “decides” its' been cooking too long and just cuts it out. The noodles just sit in the water. So frustrating. And forget about pressure canning or cooking jam or any food that requires a steady temperature for a set time. This is the most frustrating and awful range I've ever used. The owners manual says “use heavy cookware”. I own the best there is.

Horrible design hate this range

Sharby91 September 16, 2019

Horrible design. Sales rep told me buttons in coil are pan stabilizers, it's not. Its suppose to stabilize heat distribution. Only certain types of pans work on range. NO round edge pans, ripples on bottom, pans smaller than coils will work. Doesn't maintain heat temperature. Non of my 15 pans work on this range. Unstable heat distribution. In NOT buying another $ 1000 in pans. GE owes me a new range or replacement of my pans. Never buying a GE product again.

GE STOVE

808derek July 15, 2020

It's a terrible stove. The new stove comes with a new SENSI-TEMP TECHNOLOGY which turns off the temperature right after it reaches the desired temperature. How can you fry any food that take longer than 3 minutes. The desired temperature only stays on HI for only a short time, then it will turn the heat off. How can you fry any food when your stove gets hot then right after that it turns off the heat, it's get hot, then cold,, then hot then cold. How can you cook like that. DON'T BUY THIS STOVE.

Takes forever to heat up oven or boil water.

mekerns November 16, 2018

We just had the unit installed today and tested everything out this evening. Is it normal for the oven to take 20 minutes to heat up to 350 degrees? Also the back right smaller burner was on high for 25 minutes and it still would not boil 2 cups of water in a small saucepan with lid. I could still stick my finger in the water! The back left large burner took 18 minutes to boil 4 cups so I can't imagine how long it would take to boil a large pot of water for pasta. I don't even think you can fry an egg on the small burners. We have the correct flat bottom cookware so that is not the issue. This is really dissapointing.

Sad

Tripler January 13, 2020

The GE range has been a disappointment. The heater (sensi-temp) in the middle of the heating coil are annoying and useless. When I boil water for pasta, the heat cycle turns the heat off for 4 minutes before it starts heating again. You can't keep a rapid boil if you need one. Making jelly depends on a rapid boil for a given amount of time. If you are para boiling gluten free noodles for 4 minutes, you have to guess when they are ready. Now after years of cooking, everything I know about cooking on the range top doesn't apply. And a etc. I hate the range and I want one that heats consistently.

Not happy with this range .

Moe4783 April 24, 2019

I purchased this range to replace the same range that I had but a older version . It had a CHIP on the porcelain .My new range is not the same it's made cheaply and doesn't work correctly, the coils don't heat up correctly.i find it takes forever to cook something without burning it, you find yourself turning the heat up and up till it finally kicks in and then look out it's on HI and your food is burnt ! Didn't even come with a broiler pan . Not happy.. should of kept my old one!
