GE APPLIANCES PTW600BSRWS high efficiency top load washer

Fancy washer! This one has all the bells and whistles, including a dispenser for detergent and fabric softener, and more wash settings than most people will ever use. Clothes come clean, and most of the water is removed during the spin, so drying time is reduced. And the clear lid! Why am I paying for cable when I can watch my clothes? To think my grandmother used a wringer washer, and here we are with a computer attached to the machine. Slap me silly and call me George Jetson!

I had an old GE washer for many years, but it started to wear out. I decided to purchase this updated version of my old washer. It has many features which my old washer did not, no agitator to tangle clothes, convenient ways to load detergent, fabric softener and bleach, and a larger tub capacity. After the first few uses, I found that this new unit was faster, quieter, and did an excellent job of cleaning. The controls are also very easy to understand. I expect it to last a very long time, and I would recommend this model to anyone who is looking to replace their old washer.

Our foundation on the house is a little slanted so the auto balancing is awesome. It uses less water so my water bill is so much better.

So far so good only washed 1 load. I had to reverse the door to make it work in my wash space, but it worked out nicely. The washer is little noisy, dryer takes a long time to dry, towels takes an hour for a load. We will rate later when we use more. Fisher-Pykel quieter.

This washer, PTW600BSRWS, is performing very well. I do wish, however, that the Casual and Basket Clean cycles could be on the washer panel rather than only being accessible in the SmartHQ app. I would also have liked for the pre-wash cycle to be an option available on the machine itself rather than only in the app. I like that the SmartHQ app, together with the washer’s delay feature, gives me many more options for customizing the various available cycles. Also, since this model has an impeller rather than an agitator, I have to be careful to redistribute the load or to add additional items if the load becomes unbalanced. (My machine had been carefully balanced ahead of the first use.) The tendency to become unbalanced with bulky items requires close monitoring during the spin portion of the Bulky cycle. Otherwise, the machine could shake and move out of position. I have not been able to get the Water Station cycle to work using the app.

I bought a brand new maytag 2 years ago very basic didn't want alot of computerized buttons to go bad lasted 2 years. I was so disappointed. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income . So I went and bought this washer with extended warranty so far I love it

Love the capacity of it, it's very large. Cleans the clothes, towels, and comforters very well. For the price of it, I feel they cut corners and were made cheaply due to being made out of plastic. Maybe it's to keep from rusting, I'm not sure. My biggest complaint is that the machine is very loud when washing. I have several washing machines and this one is by far the loudest. Overall it does what it is supposed to do and washes well.

All has been well with the washer except I got a “Lid” error the first week I got it. I'd set a service visit but it went away before that. I hope it doesn't return. If not, I would give the highest rating.

For a washing machine to use that much technology...just unnecessary things that can break... so 4 stars. That said, easy to use and cleans well which is all I wanted. Very large capacity and spins and drains very well. People rated it loud but it's really not loud enough to complain about.
