GE GFD55GSSNWW 7.8 Cu. Ft. Front Load Smart Gas Dryer - White

We bought a "stackable" washer/dryer set to give us more room in our (small) laundry area. We were quite pleased with our purchase and so far, we are not disappointed. There's still a bit more to learn in order to get max usage out of the unit, but so far...so good.

I love that it is very big inside and easy to access your clothes. The opening is wide and I'm not searching and sticking my head inside. Looking for that extra sock. Figuring out all the settings is the hardest part

Please confirm that in the future, your process, for confirming functionality, has been updated. This is a 50% failure rate. Which is unacceptable to me? The dryer is very efficient...I find, however, that I am unable to read the top directions of the dryer for choices to determine the type and amount of the drying cycle based on the clothes load .....without a step-stool !!!! to read directions !!! This is UNACCEPTABLE !!!!. I would like some kind of readable directions added and pasted to the bottom of the dryer to facilitate easier choices for programing of the dryer

Cracked drum 2 years after buying. Big chunks breaking off. Takes forever to dry towels and blankets. Would not recommend this product or the washer that came with it. The washer's motherboard went out after 18 months of buying. Will not buy a GE product again.

Owned this dryer a little over 2 years and it started making a rhythmic thumping noise while drying. Looked inside and found the drum had a big crack in it on the back where it contacts the rollers. Looking up the parts to repair are almost half the cost of the dryer not including labor with no guarantee the same thing won't happen again. Into the landfill it went. Between this and the equally bad matching washer that got thrown out 4 months ago this will be my last GE appliance. GE quality has definitely gone downhill in recent years.

I've had very good luck with other GE appliances, so I purchased this dryer from a local store. It broke down in less than a month. It heats up, but leaves the clothes damp no matter how many times you run them through, even on the maximum settings. A service tech came out, said he needed parts, and told me it would be at least a week before they could repair it. I'd expect better than that for a brand new product, and wouldn't recommend purchasing this one.
