I bought this unit 6 years ago. I never had any problems with it. It's always been a very reliable machine for me and my family and we are a group of 5 or more depending lol. It handles all load sizes wonderfully. I love the customizable controls settings and water settings. It's a quiet machine and that is very nice. Unfortunately after so many years of loyal service I think it's about time to replace it as we are just now starting to have issues. Will definitely be looking at another ge machine.
Bought this washer to replace a 7yr old other brand that totally quit in mid cycle! Decided on an agitator model, as that is what I have always used over the years. I have tried impeller washers, as well as front loaders, and I prefer this type of machine. YES, it does make different noises than previous washers I have owned, but nothing house shaking or earth shattering! Read the manual, and it does all you need it to do! Clothes do NOT come out ripped, tangled up, or dirty. They do come out clean and very dry, requiring minimal dryer time. Also, with this machine being HE, you save $ on laundry soap, water, and electricity! Overall, nice features for the price!
I've had my washer for over 2 years. You will have to figure out the settings to your load. I have noticed that if you have larger amounts of clothes in the washer, it is best to use the bulk items setting to have the deep fill actually fill the washer with enough water. I love the agitator. I feel like it gets my clothes cleaner getting the dirt out.
Just installed washer purchased because one of the very few washers offering warm water rinse. Nice package of features but I find some confusion in instructions for Deep Fill feature. That portion seems a bit confusing at first but I will follow-up on this later
This washer is way too conservative with the wash water volume. I hear that around 2015 they restricted manufacturers heavily on water usage. That has since been relaxed somewhat due to consumer complaints. I passed it on and bought a new washer that allows me to set my water level to my desire. Expensive models don't give you that option and are more fixed to a given amount of water. I loved the touch control and glass top. It also seemed to handle off balanced loads nicely and had a super speed spin cycle that left the laundry almost dry.
I bought my washer about 7 years ago and it's now louder than before during spin cycle due to a faulty bearing. Transmission needs replacement already as the bearings are not serviceable. My old machine lasted 25 years with no issues at all
Wish I had understood what high efficiency means. Most of the wash settings barely even get the clothes wet. Takes almost an hour to do a load. The only way to get this machine to fill and wash like a traditional machine is to override the programmed washes and do a manual deep fill. Still takes about an hour to was a load. Wish I could exchange it for a traditional, regular efficiency machine.
High efficiency- horsecrap- can't clean dirty clothes with a cup of water so to speak. You shouldn't have to wash loads multiple times in order for them to get clean. With the costs of these ‘high effiency' washers- what good is this ‘high effeciency' when you gotta waste 3x the electricity to get them clean- no need to have ‘alerts' sent to my phone for a washing machine; dishwasher; stove; OR refrigerator for than matter- wish they'd just go back to basic WORKING appliances- has physics really changed? Nope- it's just more corporate greed that fills their pockets while the ‘working man' slaves to his grave.
we are a family of five with the making of a lot of dirty clothing. if you do not load this washer perfectly it will be out of balance in spin mode. and will sound like it is coming apart. we gave away our front loader washer. which never gave us any problem. call where we bought the washer from. they brought out another unit. it is doing the same as the first unit.wish we had our old GE front loaded back.
I have to choose DEEP FILL every wash in order to have enough water to get all my clothes wet. Also, sheets get twisted really tight - so tight that the wrinkles don't come out in the dryer. Where were the engineers when this washer was developed?
