This is our second washer of this model. The first one had died within 6 months of purchase possible 1 of many boards died. Local shop tried to fix. We warrantied the washer and took GE 4 months to replace and the second one last till last week, 4 years later. When the warranty is good GE is second to none. I got parts that my local repair shop could apply in a very timely manor, unless you want a warranty replacement that will take some time. I work in a very oily/dirty environment so it cleaned very well. just wished it lived as long as our first washer 16 years.
I love the features, but the cheap plastic surrounding the glass is not worth buying this washer. I like the washer and replaced the lid. The second lid crack in 2 months and Marcone Supplier didn't want to own up to the cheap product they sold me. I don't think I will buy GE appliance again.
Worst washer we've ever owned. Have had problems with the spin cycle pretty much since we bought it. Will not spin properly about a 30% of the time. Have to restart the load every time this happens. Only had a few years, not it won't spin at all. Been a headache and huge water waste since we bought it.
Like the looks and the deep drum for the capacity. Hate the face that it has to be monitored when washing towels and blankets as if it's not balanced, the drum smashes From side to side. The newer washer doesn't appear to have the corner straps inside to hold the drum in place when going into the spin cycle. Wish we would have bought a front loader!
This washing machine is horrible. Purchased thinking I would save some money on water and electric but u would be better with old washer that uses more water because by the time it actually gets done balancing out it will be about 5 loads worth. I'm very upset about this and there should be a lawsuit over this. I have to babysit it Everytime for it doesn't keep filling with water. Don't even try to wash a coat by itself because it will never happen. I feel like this washing machine is a paperweight and everyone that has one should be paid back for to get another machine because this thing is absolutely horrible. Shame on ge for doing this
Buy it if you enjoy attempting an impossible balancing act when trying to wash towels. Will not spin if even 1lb out of balance. My old budget GE washer could spin any cycle regardless of balance, but this one has to be babied the whole time. Absolute junk, dollar store washer. I can see GE is declining, and this isn't the only example of it I've seen. I would recommend literally anything else, including just washing clothes by hand.
This was a big purchase for someone who gets buy on a fixed income considering that it only lasted 4 years and it's leaking from the bottom and the repairs are a very costly repair guy says it's the tub seal that has to include a new transmission to repair definitely recommend that you take out the extra warranty if you purchase any new GE product
DO NOT buy this washer!!! The control panel bubbles up and the push buttons come off with the plastic!! GE will do nothing about this defect, check the internet complaints many people have ran into this same problem. All they do is give you a link to a appliance repair company that will charge you to fix the problem.
This washing machine was a total piece of junk. It constantly gets out of balance and really just creates nothing but problems. When it works right, it's quite lovely and does a good job unfortunately it really has created a lot of frustration and annoyance in how out of balance it gets in the way it bangs and does not clean the clothes.
This is by far the worst washer Ive ever I owned. In particular, the spin cycle. No matter how carefully I load the washer, it almost always creates or reads an imbalanced load..The washer begins to refill with water in an attempt to cycle and balance the load....which is rarely successful. When I cancel tge cycle and shift the load by hand, my attempt to start again using the "Drain and Spin" cycle, only results in more water being sprayed into the washer - if I'm diligent and lucky, the clothes will actually complete the spin cycle.
