I love this, because my set up has two monitors for my computer and my main monitor is a nice one so I like to play my ps5 on that as well and this makes it so much easier to switch instead of plugging and unplugging. The only thing is you will need power from a usb a to usb c to I guess power the led?😂
not sure why it needs a usb-c power it must be for higher resolutions , it claims 8k the funny thing is nothing uses it even if you have a 5000 dollar PC you can't run any game at 8k at a playable frame rate, plus no one I know has Internet speeds or a tv that can run 8k, I dont think id be able to tell the difference between 4k %26 8k, I barely can tell the difference between 1080p and 4k but it runs without external power on a 1080p monitor, works great, highly recommend,
I have a 25 foot HDMI cable running to my wall-mounted TV, and a Roku and Blu-ray player that I needed to connect. This switches between the 2 easily, and there doesn't seem to be any drop in quality. I returned an HDMI switch earlier because the image quality was bad and noticeable when the Roku was running through the switch vs running directly to the TV. You will need to provide your own HDMI cables though.
i liked the size, the ease of plugging in "stuff". i needed for a trip where i was going to need multiple ports. great value
I needed a splitter for my gaming setup, using one of the monitors I have for my PC and PS5. Long story short, when I'm playing on the PS5, the fans in my PC would turn on. Come to find out, being that the splitter needs power, apparently, it's enough to turn on the fans in my PC. The kicker, even when both the PC and PS5 are off, the fans STILL spin. The “residual power” comes from the USB cable. So, to remedy, I would have to unplug the USB power. With all this craziness aside, the product is good. I'd use it specifically for TVs or if you are connecting two gaming consoles to one TV.
Here's the thing: For what this device is intended to do, it works fantastically. It's a very capable 2-port HDMI switch that maintains excellent picture quality and supports high resolutions and high frame rates. Input switching is quick, too. That said, there are a few caveats. First, the instruction manual heavily implies the device can operate without being plugged in via the included USB power cable. In reality, it absolutely needs that cable , it won't power on without it. Second, I'm experiencing some audio latency with my 5.1 surround setup. I'm confident this can be reduced with some TV setting adjustments, but it's worth mentioning. The switch claims support for 5.1, 7.1, DTS, and Dolby Atmos, and that seems true… depending on the device. My Apple TV detects all formats with no issue, but my Switch 2 only shows Stereo as an option. So your mileage may vary. Finally, the price is just too high. I get that the build quality is nice, but for only two inputs and no remote, it feels overpriced. Overall, I do recommend it, just be aware of these limitations if you're in a similar setup.
The item seems to be working, however, it was obviously returned. the box was taped up and the items were stuffed inside the box.
The switch tries to auto sense active inputs and changes to them while ignoring what input you selected. This is incredibly annoying when using the switch to feed multiple PC video outputs to a single monitor. During boot I need the monitor connected while the BIOS is booting and this device makes it difficult to time switching the input while the BIOS loading is active.
Garbage. It does not work. Screens flicker no matter what resolution/refresh rate etc. Tested with multiple different consoles, PCs, and screens. And I can't even return it because I bought it a couple months back - when I first got it I thought it wasn't working because my HDMI cables were older. I just now got all new 2.1 HDMI cables, and it still doesn't work. AWFUL. Find a different switch!
I've used several types of hdmi switch and I was draw to the fact that this GE a know brand but it does work as intended. I've tried high quality cables and even regular cables it doesn't , the external usb power causes a back flow of current which damage devices.
