I bought this range to replace a 19 year old convection smooth cook top that I could not get parts for. As I am in a wheelchair, I need to have the controls in the front, which makes a range much more expensive. I didn't realize though how slow my old range was -- the cook top and oven heat to temperature (and hotter!) very, very fast. I thought that I would miss my convection oven, but not at all. Foods were crispy outside and juicy inside. I don't miss the old one at all :)
Replaced another brand electric drop-in range with this GE JD630SFSS. The eyes heat quickly and you can cook on lower settings. The wife said she uses lower settings in the oven also so apparently the oven heats up well too. This range was easy to install, works well, has a very nice appearance and is made in the USA. What else could you ask for? Very happy so far with this purchase.
Our old range (39 years old) bit the dust as soon as we were finishing preparing Christmas dinner. We started shopping for a new range on December 27th. We were offered the choice of 2 ranges. One would take 2 months to be delivered, the other 2 weeks. We wanted one asap! Despite not having a choice per se, we are very happy with this range. I was able to figure out the controls by myself without the manual. I like the ease of use. It "tells" you if you miss a step. It looks great and works great.
Bought this 4 months ago. Surface cooking even. Oven heats up quickly, even temps. The only negative (for me) is that I wish there was another burner that had the combined smaller/larger heating elements.....but I think that is available on another GE product. Just be sure to keep up on the cleaning of the cooktop. I clean it after each use, and use the special cleaning product right away when needed and it looks great.
I bought this range in July when the remodeling of my kitchen was almost complete. I have only good things to say about it! First of all--it looks good! I got the stainless steel model and it is very attractive. Secondly, it works perfectly--the burners, the oven, everything! And last of all, I like the controls--very easy to manage. I am very happy with it and glad that I chose this one!
My wife and I love to cook, and had endured two years of misery after our old range quit working consistently. At one time we had considered totally remodeling our kitchen from it's traditional U-shape to an island, so had been putting off any appliance replacements, but finally we just had to get a range, and we are so glad we got this one. The first difference we noticed was the consistency and predictability of the heat from both the cook top and the oven. We had been so used to the hit-or-miss of the old range that we have had to revise recipes to allow for the fact that they now cook at the temperature and for the duration recommended. We can't say enough about how efficient the range is, and it has added back an element in our lives that we had sorely missed. We really like the feature of the dual element at the right front of the cook top, and the ease of maintenance (when you have that one little boil-over) compared to the coil-type burners of our prior range, plus with the heating elements more contained, it doesn't seem like the kitchen gets as warm as it did before.
This was a replacement for the electric range that came with our 1980 home. This oven dropped/slide right into place with minimum fuss. It has all the features of our old oven, including the right color, plus the ability to lock the touchscreen which is nice when your cleaning the oven top. It also has the width and depth to hold our ceramic baking stone, which makes bread making and pizza cooking much easier. Overall we are very happy with our GE electric range and we still haven't used all of it's features. At least not yet.
Replaced a new but inexpensive coil burner stove. Love everything about my new range except I wish the hot burner indicator lights would stay on longer. They go off at 150° when the burner is still somewhat hot to the touch.
Although it took some time to get used to the glass top, we've been thoroughly enjoying this stove. I love the knobs, and the fact that they need to be pushed in to activate, since I have cats. The digital settings are easy to use, and the automatic fan is a nice touch.
I love my new range compared to my 30 year old one. I'm glad I replaced it. However, I thought the cooktop would heat up quicker since it's so modern and new. I'm also a bit anxious about damaging the glass cooktop since I'm not used to it. My old one had coils. Overall, I'm happy with it and it's easy to operate. It is also very attractive looking in my kitchen.
