This is a great product that adds piece of mind that you can still get around your house. It is easy to use and turns into a flashlight when you need it.

It is actually very bright for being only 65 watts. I love the feature where if the power does go out, you can use it light up a room or even as a flashlight!! Will get a few more to be ready for hurricane season to kick in full gear!!

It charges while it's screwed into the outlet and then you can unscrew it and use it as a stand alone flashlight. It is very bright and lasts for hours. This has been a life saver for my family.

The light output is fantastic with muchess power draw and I like know that if the power goes out I have a backup light I can always turn on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to having several power outages in our neighborhood this year as a result of several storms, I decided get the GE LED+ Battery Backup Soft White 65W Indoor Floodlight. The concept is very innovative; if our power goes out in our home, this bulb stays lit for approximately 5 hours! Additionally, I can unscrew the light bulb and actually use it as a flashlight by simply flicking the switch on the lightbulb to flashlight mode. The bulb is easy to install as any other bulb, yet you need to leave the power on for about 10 hours after initial installation. This is my only con as it is not energy conscious. Therefore, I would recommend that you first charge it closer to dusk so that you will have a reason to have the light on! The soft white light not only illuminates well but it is easy on the eyes! Thankfully, I have not had the opportunity to test its efficacy, yet I am confident that a product by GE will live up to its claims! I plan on getting other bulbs put on the other floors of my home so that we will not be in complete darkness when we lose power again.

You may wonder how great a light bulb can be as long as it works, but this one has extra features that really are terrific. I love that the bulb recharges itself when the electricity is on. You can also use this bulb as a flashlight, if needed. When the electricity goes out, you can use it in a lamp or any other standard fixture so that you don't have to endure the dimness of your surroundings by candle light. I am curious to see what the lifespan of this particular bulb is, but I have zero complaints so far and I hope to be able to use it for a very long time. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone that might have a need for it.

It is not as bright as the 100W or higher halogen floodlights that some may be accustomed to, so check your particular location/application, but it gets the job done if 65W equivalent is sufficient for your needs.

While we do not lose power very often, this light bulb will be perfect for those times when the lights do go out and there you are, unprepared without a flashlight. There is a switching feature that allows it to run all the time or in a power loss situation. This would be perfect for the light above the stairs or in a hallway that does not have any windows.

However, I found a different spot for it and I'm happy with it. It is easy to switch to battery mode and the light is just as bright. It will be perfect if we lose power in the event of a hurricane.
