I was a bit surprised at first, because most light-sensing bulbs are the snow-cone variety and have the sensor off to the plastic side, shielded from the light source itself, while these are literally all glass bulbs except for the metal base, with the sensor pretty much right below the "filaments". It's like trying to listen to someone speak while you're running a jackhammer. But they work! Nice bit of engineering. They turn on when it gets dark, and turn off when it gets light, just what it says on the tin. My only (minor) complaint is that it does expect lots of ambient light to turn off, so it's quick to turn on but slow to turn off. It'll stay on with cloudy days, and takes a while to turn off when it gets light out. Still, a nice looking bulb, extremely compact, and it does what it says it does.

Sometimes Walmart says the item is in stock but you don't actually find out if it is available until after you check out or later and it can be too late to cancel because they then automatically ship the item without customer verification that shipping is a good option.

,these worked for my lamp. It may be the lamp. It's three way light, the bulb doesn't quite go off, makes a fake night light,
