We love the capacity and technology this dryer offers. It is easy to use and very effective at drying our laundry thoroughly. No longer do we have towels and sheets balled up in the dryer that are still wet in the middle. We love this dryer.
This dryer is the matching partner to the washer I bought a year ago. I love the large capacity and the options; the drying time is a nice surprise since it is faster than my old dryer. I like the size of the link catcher- it is compact and is doing an excellent job of capturing lint.
Very nice dyer. Hold a lot and does dry the clothes. It is electric and it seems to take longer to dry my clothes then my previous dryer. the clothes come out completely dry unlike my old one which sometimes twisted the clothes and had damp spots. I like the idea of the steam part, haven't used it yet, but I could definitely see myself using it soon. Overall, a good dryer. I hope it last as long as my previous GE dryer - 12+ years.
I haven't had the dryer long but love it so far. It was an upgrade from a 30 year old set from Kenmore which was still going strong until an unplanned flooding event. The GE has been great! The load capacity is much larger than my old units and it seems far more efficient. The dryer is super quiet and the steam option is great.
While the dryer works very well and I like how I can set my preferences, the sound at the end of the cycle is barely audible. It's not a buzzer or a song as I've had on other dryers, but a barely audible sound (same sound as when moving the dial). There is also no Air option, though there is a no heat option on most cycles.
Less than 3 years of life and even with a 1st year repair that the drive belt replacement / upgrade that the repairman said was common due to the cheap one installed by default. He even keeps belts in the car and had one available for our dryer to stop the excessive high pitch squeaking of the drum turning. Now, like other reviews online have noted the 3 screws that attach the vent plate to the rear of the drum are POOR quality and meant to fail based on the design for “Planned Obselence” - “This ensures that devices—such as smartphones, appliances, or hardware—stop functioning optimally or break down entirely within a few years, forcing consumers to purchase replacements or upgrades rather than keeping them for the long term (per Google definition).” Why not 4 screw mounting points? Why not reinforced, sturdier metal at the mounting area or a mounting plate?
The worst dryer ever. We are in the process of returning this for another brand. The lint system is awful and vent got clogged, our appliance place replaced the entire dryer because it wouldn't dry. The replacement was just as bad and blew lint all over our back deck. Not sure if it’s a bad design or what but I am done trying with this dryer.
I did not receive an owners instruction manual with this product. I’ve been trying to get one online for the last hour and all II did not receive an owners instruction manual with this product. I’ve been trying to get one online for the last hour and all I get is a runaround with a bunch of questions like you’re giving me. Yes It
I posted on here exactly a year ago about the cord melting. Here we go again!!! No heat, pull the machine apart, having to purchase and replace the wire. GE should be refunding labor and parts costs when this is happening to so many of their machines and is due to their manufacturing. Trash. I'll never buy another GE product again!
It has a problem drying the washing machine.. The problem is that when I take the washing machine out, it starts to rock violently from side to side. I've already aligned and balanced it, but the problem persists. I've also tried small and large loads, and the problem remains.
