This is an amazing product to encourage more water drinking! I mean you can use the ice for so much more but I’m using it to add lots of ice to my water quickly. Plus with 3 kids in sports this thing is constantly producing!

This is my second. my first one lasted 4yrs. I highly recommend jugs of water from store. Never used tap in mine.

Solid ice machine. Perfect size for our family of four. We use distilled water and the ice always tastes great. The machine routinely requests that you sanitize and descale, so that gets a little old. Not hard to do just takes some time. You will need to purchase extra filters and descaling powder from GE.

Instructions to set up were easy and the ice started to come out very fast. The little scooper magnet is a nice touch! Easy to use and set up and I love having the small ice right there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really happy with this Nugget Ice Maker. It makes nugget ice pretty quickly, and the ice has that soft, chewable texture I love. The Wi-Fi feature is also really convenient because I can control and monitor it from my phone. I also like that it comes with a scale-inhibiting filter, which helps keep the machine cleaner and makes maintenance easier. It's easy to use, looks great on the counter, and the ice scoop is a nice bonus. Overall, it's been a great addition for making refreshing drinks at home!

This is my 3rd opal, the first one worked great loved it, fast ice, perfect size..but they only last so long..My 2nd one i got in 10/25). 2 weeks in it wouldn't stop flashing clean, i did both cleanings and nothing, i called we tried a couple things. No luck they sent me a new one, 2 weeks in same thing, i called and Finally she told me to take the filter out and I was using the blue one, the better one... its not better. She said its probably all clogged up it happens. In 2 weeks!! she told me to only use distilled water in it, I have white filters left over from my last opal but she told me just to use the screen and distilled water....so I filled the side tank and no filter, it works but I think im going to use up my white filters and see what happens. Also the light inside will not work? 2 weeks!! Not happy. I know its just a light bulb but I paid good money for it to work and not break in 2 weeks..So distilled water is the way to go.. The only way to go..If you are not going to use distilled water dont bother it will not last..I still enjoy my ice but its a continuous money trap of distilled water I gotta lug in the house all the time...and im not happy about the light! I used that for a night light... so I wanna give it a 5 but I just can't...

It almost lasted a week before the notorious squealing sound came. I will try to upload a video. They have it listed as “optional”. They have got to do a mass recall on these and fix the problem. Search YouTube for “ge ice noise”. You will be amazed. Sadly, it makes awesome ice. Now to get the noise fixed

I’ll be returning it. It makes a lot of screaming noise.

I ordered this as new. I received an obvious return. It was used, damaged and missing parts. Customer service was non-existent and did not care.
