GE Profile Ultra Quiet Window Air Conditioner 8,200 BTU, WiFi Enabled, Ideal for Medium Rooms, Easy Installation with Included Kit, White

This window air conditioner is quiet and does what it's supposed to. We need noise to sleep well, so we have an electronic noise maker which can mimic different fan noises. We were surprised that we still needed it after installing this window air conditioner.

Excellent air-conditioner, surprisingly colder than my other 8,000 BTU unit, and extremely quiet. It does make some splashing sounds like my other AC, but the splashing sound gets quieter the longer you have it. This hands down the best window AC I've ever used. I want to get rid of my other older louder unit and get a second one of these.

Although I thought this was a little pricey I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. When in quite mode I almost forget that it’s on. It has a nice sleek design and it has no problem cooling our first floor. I was so impressed with its performance that I bought a second one as a gift for our son.

Cooling is fine for it's capacity, It can be a bit noisy when the compressor is running but the Sleep mode is nice for sleeping. Installation into an older wood window took a while because I installed it with the intent of leaving it in year round. The side curtains weren't winter tolerant and there were small air gaps so I used foam insulating board and silicone to fully insulate the unit. Also wrapped it over the cold months with foam padding. As for efficiency, it does an adequate job of cooling the bedroom and with the help of a different window AC in the kitchen, it has been an acceptable and far less expensive substitute for the central air unit which broke several years ago. And on the higher fan speeds it randomly has an annoying buzz . The remote is difficult to read , especially in a dimly lit room, and the timer function works backwards of the way I would prefer it. It turns the unit on after the timing gap. The sleep timer is set for 8 hours and would be better if it was adjustable to turn off after a set time. And I wish all of the remote functions were available on the phone a because the tiny print on the remote s already fading with use. Good unit but could be better.

My air conditioner arrived damaged! The box had been dropped and one side of the air conditioner was dented pretty badly. (I am assuming that this was done by FedEx!). I was going to return it for a refund, but decided to see if it works and it does. To return it for a refund would take 3-4 weeks and that is just crazy when I need it NOW. So, I have a visually damaged unit that does work as described. Extremely disappointed, as it is NOT a cheap unit! If you are ordering yours online, inspect your package before accepting it! Know that it is shipped from a vendor and not Walmart and they require an adult signature upon delivery. (Actually, they indicate same on the door tag, but I never signed for it!) Unit must be turned on with the remote control(no buttons on the unit). I could not download or use the app due to a "invalid verification" error message, so I am not sure about that. Assembly instructions are not the best. Weatherstrip is CHEAP and thin. Had to purchase thicker foam to seal window.

We got this for our 5 yearolds bedroom. Very disapointed when we got this with the box damaged. Though, it didnt seem like the air conditioner was damaged. So, we put it in and turned it on and it has a rattle that is very annoying! Not sure what the issue is, we tried everything. Now, it doesnt do this all the time, but when it does you need to turn it off and restart it. I think we will try to return it, hoping we can get one that isnt damaged.

This Unit works fine but beware .. It is NOT energy efficient.. I admit i did not research enough but bought to quickly .its averaging aprox 10kw per day which in my area relates to about $100 a month for cooling just 1 room aprox 250 sq ft. When first researching I came accross ge profile Ultra Quiet ENERGY EFFICIENT 8000 btu ac unit.ceer rating 15. Of course i went shopping for a deal.. Came across walmart with a good price for the GE Profile Ultra Quiet AC unit. well this is not the unit i thought i was buying.ceer rating is 11.2.Not bad but more than 20% less efficient costing me more than $20 a month to operate Unfortunately the true energy saving unit is only avvailable at select places and for full retail suggested price as on GE website.. Yes i would have paid the price for it or looked for another brand had i known.. I wanted GE as my grandfather worked for them for 45yrs.. Ugg this thing is also made in Korea.. .. Iv ordered a different brand unit from elsewhere that is 15 ceer rating.

I am an active sleeper and I spent double the regular price for an AC to have a quiet room while sleeping. The ad says it's “ultra quiet” but it's louder than the cheap AC's, I have to turn it off before going to sleep. It's a waste of money, The installation is time taking and you will feel lazy to uninstall and return it back to them (they are counting on this). It's a matter of time that someone will sue them for scamming…

The unit splashes, pops, crackles and frankly garbage. Yes it cools the room, but after choosing this product based on comparison, extremely disappointed. This is louder than the three year old TCL AC it replaced. I'm about to put the old one in and do battle with Wally world to attempt a return. Which I'm sure it's going to be a huge hassle.

I loved that it was much quieter than other AC UNITS, but in less than 3 months the plug prongs are loose and the grounding portion came right off. It's been in the same spot the whole time and could have cause serious damage if no one was home. I usually have no problems with GE, but quality is lacking and now I have no AC in 100 heat.
