Great product.

Ken January 19, 2026

works great, right out of the box for my two different Samsung tv's. Just plug in with the cord provided to charge, no batteries needed to change. Like it very much!

Backlit rechargeable universal streaming TV remote

anonymous June 21, 2026

When the report for the smart TV got lost for a couple of days, the streaming options were not available -only power on the TV itself and volume of an auxiliary speaker. I have had good luck with GE universal remotes in the past. This one is also backlit and rechargeable, so no more scrambling for batteries! (Can even charge it for "70 seconds" -according to instructions- and immediately use once to complete a task, before totally charging it.) The power button is supposed to flash when power is getting low, to let you know to charge soon. The indicator light shows blue when charging and turns green when done. This remote can control up to 4 devices and is easy to program compatible devices from an enclosed list of brands and their codes: Press %26 hold the setup button for a few seconds until it lights up, tap the button you want to program it for (TV, etc) then a 4 digit code from brand listings. Test with power button. (My TCL took 2nd code from list.) As with other universal remotes, you can use the Audio (or any other device) button to program another TV (or other compatible device). The labels are suggestions and could have been labeled A,B,C %26D instead of device names. (I have a second "old school" non smart Hisense TV programmed to the audio button and that works perfectly.) I do NOT like the preprogrammed buttons for Netflix, etc, that cannot be changed to other streaming services. Wish the user could choose which streaming services to program to those. (Have Paramount with my Walmart subscription, but no direct quick access button for that!) At least those buttons are near the top of the remote and not as easily bumped accidentally as the original remote. The remote is wider, too, and easier to handle than the skinny one that came with the TCL tv. Got one for my elderly father and he easily programmed it. My parents still have old school cable programming, instead of streaming (via coax cable) and the number keypad allows to directly go to a channel instead of needing to use an up %26 down rocket switch to go through all the channels to get to the chosen one. (No number keypad on original TV remote.) My dad seemed especially happy with that feature! *For those using voice commands, this remote does NOT have that function. I do not have a separate streaming box (Roku, etc), but the instructions say those are not compatible with this remote, so keep in mind if you have any of those. Very helpful replacement (or backup) remote that is good to have. If the original remote for a smart TV gets lost or broken, it would be tough to watch without replacement. (There ARE apps to use for a remote, but they have LOTS of ads AND you would need your phone for yet another task.)

I don't like the NON-USER REPLACEABLE battery.

KrellLab February 18, 2026

It works good, but I don't like the NON-USER REPLACEABLE battery. You get it programmed exactly how you like it, and then after 3–5 years the non-replaceable battery will stop taking a charge and it goes in the trash, and you'll have to start all over again. I've had other programmable remotes that take replaceable AA or AAA batteries. (They keep their programming without batteries.) Those types can last for decades. Again, NO complaints about the remote, but I don't like the fact I can't change the battery.

short battery life with kids

amelia January 23, 2026

the battery doesn't really last very long. I've had it 5 months and my kids DRAIN the battery so fast. this last charge didn't even last a week. BUT I absolutely love this remote. could use voice option and finding option but otherwise a great remote

Great Idea, poorly executed.

Anonymous July 19, 2026

I have owned 4 of these remotes to date. 1st one lasted 4 months, 2nd one 5 months, 3rd one 3 months, and the 4th on Ive had around 2 months still working. I love the idea no batteries to replace just plug it into a charger and wait for the light to go green, I used this remote to for my Samsung smart Tv, my projector, my Samsung sound bar, and my vizio tv. this product would be 5 start if lasted longer but everyone ive gotten has died out within 6 months. If you do try this remote out you may want to purchase the warranty.

Don't waste your time on this...pain in the butt

Brittany July 27, 2026

This remote was really hard to set up and would not work to control all our peripherals with the tv. Kept asking for pin numbers we had never set up ...it was not worth it at all. I ordered a brand specific remote and it worked perfectly right out of the package. I would not waste your time with this one.
