Couldn't find these in any of my local stores for some reason. Glad I was able to find it online. I like using these for lamps that have the annoying twist switches. Makes it much easier.
Great design, it looks enough like a regular wall switch that it doesn't stand out at all. The plug in part is a little bulky. Overall, great product.
Works perfect for my bedroom floor lamp that I stuck in a corner and is a pain to reach its switch. Just plug it in to the wall then plug your lamp into it. The switch has a battery ( thats included) and two tiny screws to mount onto the wall . Just so much easier now I can reach this switch without at night any problem. Love it!
Does exactly what I wanted. I'm using on a lamp that has an unfortunate switch location. The switch plate has a vradle yoy mount to the wall. If you ever need the switch to be mobile, just slide out of cradle. The switch looks like a switch you'd flip back and forth (think light switch) but each side of the button is a push to toggle switch. If you have a need, this is the one. Durable, well made, not huge and ugly like some others.
I bought this unit for our under cabinet lighting. Our lighting works great, but the remote that came with the system was garbage, eating batteries and falling apart. Rather than pay $20 for a new remote, I bought this unit. All I had to do was plug the power supply to the lights into the new outlet, turn them on one last time with the remote, and use the new paddle switch to turn it on and off. I mounted our paddle switch under our cabinets where it's hidden. We are about a month in and it is working well. Only once have I come in to find it turned on from some phantom radio signal. It was easy to install. My only complaint is that I don't really like the plug design. My plug in is in a cabinet, and it was a tight fit getting the lights plugged into it while still being able to have our microwave plugged in. I wish it would either allow you to plug in from either side, or simply have a front plug in.
Works perfect. Roomie needed to let us know when they were busy working at home, now there is a green light bulb outside of room so we don't interrupt their business / client meeting.
Bought this for my 2 year old's room so he can turn his light on by himself. He loves it and feels more independent. No issues do far. Works great.
When I received the unit the lamp cord wouldn't fit into the plug slot. The contacts needed widen out . Could have taken it back but that would have been taken longer and I needed it right away . I disassembled the unit and spread out the contact s and it worked fine . I should have not had to do this but I did . Quality control must not be very good ,but the unit works fine so far .
When I first got this, I was completely enamored and ready to buy one for every outlet. I never have to walk across a room to turn on or off a light again, muhuhaha! It's an amazing idea, because it turns any outlet into a wall switch. The downside -- it turns on at random times without anyone touching the switch. I have our living room lamps on this, and it felt like we had a ghost--they would keep ending up on, even when we were sure we'd turned them off. Now I've seen it first-hand several times. The switch will just turn on for no reason. My best guess is that it's very sensitive to minor fluctuations in the power grid. It's annoying, because I'll routinely find them turned on in the middle of the night and have to walk downstairs to turn them back off. I initially wanted to get them for our nightstand lamps, but definitely won't with this recurring issue. Great idea, but disappointing implementation.
As several others have stated, these will turn on whatever is plugged in at random times without input from the switch. It's not super often but at least several times each week, at random times. Incredibly frustrating because it's otherwise a good product that fills a real need. If you don't mind your light or whatever coming on periodically by itself, this might be a useful product as a temporary fix. Long term it would definitely get annoying. DO NOT connect anything to it that would be annoying/dangerous if it came on by itself: bedroom light in the middle of the night, garbage disposal as another reviewer noted, anything that makes noise, etc. Good luck.
