You can use this for just about any area. I got it for my efficiency fridge-freezer. The freezer cools the fridge and there is one coldness dial in the fridge. When I open the door too much or load the fridge with groceries for the week it takes awhile to get below the 40deg area. I put this temperature sensor in the fridge and set the fridge cold dial at the coldest setting. The fridge will cool down faster. I can just watch the smartphone app without having to open the door and check the plastic temp gauge I had in there, warming up the fridge each time. Once the fridge cools down I can set the coldness dial at that point. The sensor is very small, comes with a lanyard, a sticky mounting patch and batteries. Just download the app. Very easy to set up and use. Put the batteries in the sensor, turn on the blue tooth and WiFi in the app. The app picks up the sensor unit and my WiFi service automatically sets up the 2.4ghz connection. I had to calibrate the sensor. I have a household Temp-Humidity sensor. I compared the app readings with the household sensor readings and added 3 deg to the sensor temp, did the same with humidity. You have use the sensor reset button which is inside the back where the batteries are. Just click it once, you don't have to press and hold. Then I set up an alarm in the app to indicate when the fridge went below 34deg or above 38deg. I can watch my fridge using the app on my smartphone from anywhere using either WiFi or cellular. If there is a power outage I know what the fridge temp has been. The app also provides a graph of temp and humidity with time to see how they vary. Easy to read, easy to use. Great little gadget to have, worth the price. I don't have to spend all of my time going into the kitchen to check on the fridge.

BEWARE THE INCLUDED BATTERIES! They are of very poor quality, and did not work. Once I replaced them with new batteries the unit was easy to set up and use. I linked it with Alexa and can now access the temperature and humidity at my home from anywhere.

Works great. it doesn't tell u how much life is left on the batteries though.

Item didn't work and vendor didn't respond to issue. Cannot recommend this product.
