I haven't opened my most recent purchase but I bought Gehl Jalapeno again because I love this as a shelf stable option for nachos. I like that it comes in two individual bags. I cut off a corner and dispense it over my tortilla chips like I was using a pastry bag. I even find that the open bags are fine when stored at room temperature - in the bag and within a closed container, of course - for well over a week! By contrast, the 100 oz can by another brand was cumbersome in that it had to be transferred to food safe containers and didn't hold up well once opened and refrigerated. Neither did my first Gehl original 50 oz bags. I don't have need to use 50 or 100 oz at once or very quickly and they both got soupy in the refrigerator. Lastly, I like spicy. The jalapeno flavor is there but I have to add more pepper to achieve my desired amount of spice.
If you're looking for affordable nacho cheese with great taste and great value look no further than this nacho cheese. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Also it's very convenient that you can store it in the fridge after opening without any complications. But note it would be wise to store it in a large Ziploc bag if you're not going to use the whole thing. I give this nacho cheese a 10 out of 10.
Gehl's Cheese sauce Jalapeno is the best nacho cheese we can find! It is a must have for tacos/burritos/nachos. It is also perfect for chili cheese fries! The closest to Taco Bell Cheese that we have found.
We use this for EVERYTHING! We make nachos, mac %26 cheese, chili chesse fries, cheese brats/dogs, chip dip, and so much more. It also tastes amazing in your burritos and tacos!
This stuff is so good. It works great for mac and cheese and nachos and whatever else you think of to put it on. Only issue I have is that I can no longer get it in store. I have to order it and that is kinda annoying.
Love this stuff. Comes in 2 pouches. Have had this cheese open in my fridge for a month before and it's still good. As long as you push the cheese back away from the opening cut it won't dry out. We also have a pump style cheese dispenser. First time I set it to the 140 degrees the packaging calls for but it was too hot, it turned water like and never thickened back up after being removed from the heat. It was ruined and had to dump it out. Tried again at 125 degrees and it was perfect!
The only problem that I had was the driver that delivered it. Did not speak any English whatsoever. I tried to tell him and explained to him that his cell phone service. Provider does not work in my area. But he did not understand it. Other than that, it was great and wonderful experience.
I really like this stuff, it is a bit weak in the flavor department though. For your money you can't go wrong.. Add jalapeno slices and some spices if you want more flavor..
Good cheese sauce. Not too spicy. The package not being resealable makes me waste cheese when I don't have a separate bag clip specifically for the cheese bag.
Gehl's used to be very good to cheese sauce for me but this box of "cheese" sauce is nowhere near what I remember. It also tastes nothing like the Gehl's sauce I've gotten from the machines (in the past). It does seem to taste very much like the first 2 main ingredients... CHEESE WHEY, WATER.
