Great beginner gel blaster especially for young kids with the low velocity barrel. Then when the kids want to play more competitively or with adults, they can but the faster barrel in. the battery being built in and charged with usb-c is so easy to use. I believe the gel blaster also has overheating precautions to prevent fire. It is great as a gift for people wanting to get into gel blasters.
All the kids enjoyed them. I purchased four. All worked as promised. Quick charging time. Not enough power to hurt an adult. Very cool at night, get the glow in the dark ammo. Keep the bucket of ammo under a light while waiting for them to expand. SAFE (use the included protective glasses.) , FUN. I paid 14.99 each .
Neither one would charge after about two to three very shallow battery cycles. im pretty sure these were new old stock, as the packaging was pretty faded, and a bit worn. I kind of suspected that was the case going into it, but it was about 1/3 of the price that they are normally so i took a chance. If anyone else has this problem with these, and you are handy with a soldering iron, its pretty easy to fix. its not the batteries that fail, its the charging circuit itself, so it can be fixed by straight wiring the battery pack to the switch, and motor, bypassing all of the circuitry inside. this is how the pirahna is designed, same wire guage, same switch, same internals, just a different casing on the outside. well im done pooping so ttyl lol!
We bought two Gel Blaster Surge blasters for Christmas. They are the exact same model. One works perfectly, but the other does not work at all. We charged both for over six hours as instructed. The working one is fine, but the other says it's fully charged and then immediately has no charge. After reading other low reviews, it seems many people are having the same issue. This was a big letdown, especially for a Christmas gift. Quality control is clearly inconsistent.
I had great expectations for this blaster. Upon opening the box the trigger was jammed, the battery wouldn't charge and it would not fire in single mode or burst mode. Completely dead. I understand Walmart does not accept returns on these, so having a background in electronics I took it apart. The contact switch which fires the mechanism was damaged, there was a loose wire on one of the small electronic board connectors and the trigger popped out of its slot with the spring. Interestingly enough the box was fine so I know it didn't take a hit in shipping. I spent over an hour troubleshooting and rebuilding this thing which was difficult to say the least because of the cramped insides. I understand why it was $15.00, they are clearing them out for the new model. Luckily I was able to fix the thing so the kid was happy and Christmas was saved. I cannot recommend this Surge blaster due to poor quality control. Stay away.
well if all of the parts were with it it would have been amazing. I had baught this for my son whom has cancer. and he was so excited to receive it then it was short on 2 or 3 parts. I'm hopeful that Walmart, being as they are for the most part be a human being reach back out on my email. v thanks and have a blessed day.
It probably would have been a good gift if it worked I should have known something was a home print sticker that said let it charge for 6 hours none of the less I didn't that thinking that it would cut on nothing I called Walmart customer service who instructed me to take it to any Walmart they will take it back and I would get a refund well I had to go to multiple Walmart finally found one that would take it and now I gotta wait two weeks for a refund to see my baby face when she open her gift to see her go from that to crying because she couldn't play with favorite Christmas gift I didn't want a refund I wanted it replaced but they act like they couldn't do that
So first off a deceptive description is being used here. This is NOT a Surge 2. and there's a homemade sticker saying to charge for 6 hours on the box. So it seems these are known bad units. I charged the two blasters for the 6 hours. they averaged about 10 shots before they stopped shootong and the low battery loght started blinking. then would only charge for a few seconds. This is a reseller pawning off defective units. DO NOT BUY.
When I got it, I put it on charge until the light turned green. I got maybe 15-20 shots before it stopped working, and the light turned red. So I charged it again. I got another 10-15 shots before it stopped working again. After charging a third time, it did the same thing. So apparently, the battery is faulty. I returned it for a refund.
These things are absolute trash. I bought three of them. One for me and one for each of my kids. I put less than 1000 gels though mine and it broke. No longer fires. The two I bought for my kids go into some sort of lockout mode and they have to plug them into the charger to get it to reset so it will fire again every 200 shots or so.
