I agree with the other reviewer. This speaker will amaze you with its sound quality, build quality, and value. It looks amazing. It is great. I have JBL and Harmon Kardon Bluetooth speaker at twice the price. It is loud enough that I haven't turned it up fully yet. It was so satisfying to open the box and put it up. It looks great in my home office.
This thing is really cool. It feels solid. But does it sound good to you? I will be honest, it was a bit scary. I set it up, connected my smartphone (bluetooth worked immediately), and was ready for... I don't know what to do! I don't often blindly buy products that have no reviews online. This thing sounds great. It's full of sound. It's full. That's all I can say. It has crisp highs and warm mids with a good amount bass. It won't vibrate your chair, but it will give you a good bass. It's not a dubstep machine. This is a classy speaker that produces high quality audio. It doesn't feel like it's geared towards any particular genre, which I love. I tried it with a variety music: jazz, minimal techno and indie rock. I'm proud to say that everything sounded the way it should. I like a neutral sound signature with some pronounced mids. This is exactly what I wanted. The sound is neutral to warm with no audio issues or buzzing. However, I wouldn't recommend turning up the bass knob too much. It doesn't seem right to me and doesn't increase low frequencies like you would think. Instead, it gives off a mid-to-low thump (maybe 3/4 the way down the spectrum). The overall detail is excellent! Instruments are full of personality and shine. You might hear details that you didn't know before. No! You get a wide, warm, and full sound for only one speaker. I am just thrilled. The price is very reasonable. The unit is also very attractive. It looks great next to 70's audio equipment. This is the bluetooth speaker for you. It has tone control, a line in and produces a great sound, but in a small package. It's amazing that there aren't any more speakers like this one. I spent several days looking through them. Too small and tinny, or too big, etc. This one is just right. Is it loud? It can get very loud. It's 40 watts. It's 40 watts more than you need, I swear. Random thought: I think vinyl would shine through this thing. But that's an experiment for later. Sometimes, you gotta take a chance.
A refurbished unit was purchased. It looked and functioned just as well as a new unit. It was a great value for the money.
Beautiful appearance in my office. Sometimes plenty loud with bluetooth, sometimes not so loud regardless of volume settings on iphone and unit itself. Sound is good but not excellent even with careful adjustments of bass and treble. Only criticism is that unit powers off when bluetooth signal lost, then have to turn power rocker switch off and on again to pair with bluetooth once gain.
Pros: Great battery life and a classic design. Solid construction/components. The most important and most appreciated feature is the bass/treble adjustment knobs. Pros: Good Bluetooth range. The speaker produces great sound, with a volume of about 60%. The automatic power shutoff function, which is not mentioned in the item description, is also annoying. To restore function, you must physically cycle the power switch. It looks great. However, speakers with less power can deliver better sound quality and performance. This speaker is perfect for listening to music in a small living room at a moderate volume. Don't push the speaker beyond its limits and be ready to adjust the equalizer a lot.
