Good quality turntable and Walmart's price was well below other sellers. As it's a turntable aimed at DJs it has no enclosure or dust cover but I'm sure I can find/make something to house it in.
This is a great low-end turntable, no doubt. It has all the options that you would get on other turntables within this price range. This means they will always have the cheapest cartridge/stylus at a good large lot price. It is strongly recommended that you upgrade it as soon as possible to at minimum one in the $99.00 price range. There are many options available in this price range, including scratchers and lower-end audiophile-grade ones. All of these will sound significantly better than the turntable. Make sure you use the supplied one. Mine was not properly installed and was not screwed down on one end. It was obvious right away. Although I understand that the unit was pre-installed and not subject to Gemini's quality control, they should still inspect it for any obvious problems. They are responsible for the cartridges and putting them on their turntable. I am still waiting for the cartridge I want to order and I am looking forward to receiving it. I know it will be a great addition to this well-made turntable. The feet are built to absorb vibrations. I didn't hear any issues when I turned on my sub woofers 12 inches to listen to "Thunderstruck". A cover is the only thing I don't like. A DJ will probably keep your turntable in a case, but you will need a cover if you plan to use it at home. It fit my old turntable well and I have one that doesn't work anymore. However, I prefer a cone with a hinged cover. Would I recommend this particular turntable to others? It is not recommended for home use due to the absence of a dust cover. It is a great turntable for DJ use, and it holds up well against other turntables under $300. It is not recommended for home use, but I give it at least four stars as an excellent DJ machine.
My turntable arrived in excellent condition seems to be constructed very well however it does not hold the speed correctly I was thinking I may have to break in the pitch control but to no avail it still doesn't hold the correct speed.
I had two turn tables shipped and one was being "worked on" to make it usable. The one I kept isn't perfect. It won't play a single record before it starts skipping. I tried many adjustments and even some "red-neck" ingenuity. This allows for all but the last 1/4 inch of a record, which I have made several times. This means that I can't listen to the last song on any album. It was solidly reviewed... could it be that I got two lemons? Maybe. Perhaps it was the shipping company. I have had to deal with broken parts, missing parts and non-working electronics. Gemini Sound shipped a second turntable when the first one did not work properly. It was frustrating to have the process of setting it up, tearing it down, setting it up a new one, then tearing down the old one and resetting the first. Repairs were made and parts from the second were used to make it functional. Finally, it was time to re-box the turntable and ship it back. Only in the end did you have to settle for a functional turn-table.
Pitch control was inaccurate.Plastic parts were cheaply made.Turntable has an alignment issue doesn't spin flat and true.
arm is loose. speed is faulty. playback sounds like it slows down then picks up speed. would like a refund please.
Plastic junk. Feels super cheap and poorly made. Don't waste your time. I bought it to play albums at home and prefer a fully manual table. This garbage does not keeps a consistent speed, rendering it useless. Spent two minutes with it after setup and knew it was going right back. A complete waste of resources.
I was never able to get any records to play. Horrible grinding noise when I put needle to record. I'm quite familiar with balancing tonearms and setting tracking weights so that wasn't the problem. I even changed stylus cart with the same horrible results. Will try to send this back.
Not for DJs. If the record is touched, the turntable slows down worse than a belt drive. It takes longer to speed back up to pitch again. The platter did not sit flush either and made a scraping sound when played. Returned.
Product came in broken and product did not meet even standards to even use correctly
