My hairdresser recommended. I get this to prevent my color from fading and looking washed out. The lower price on Walmart.com was a big bonus roo!

actually makes your hair red

I use this shampoo every hairwash (1-2 times per week) to maintain my freshly colored hair. It is definitely very pigmented-the ends of my hair were actually an "antique rose" color, but even after 1 wash with this it is now much more copper-brown. This definitely is more brown/copper than it is red, just like the description states, and is exactly what I was looking for to maintain my color without it getting too red! When I had a mushroom brown color to my hair previous, I used this same brand colorwash in the silver color and had the same great results then as well, so I was very excited to see this shade that is perfect for my hair color now. I do not find this product to be drying to my hair as I know it is for some, but I am also pregnant and my hair does behave differently during this time than usual. I am planning on purhasing the conditioner from this brand also when I need some!

Really helps keep my color fresh. I use it every other shampoo.

This was the shampoo recommended by my hair stylist to refresh my color between appointments. I have level 6 hair (dark "blonde" that has some red to it -- someone described my natural color as "apple cider" once and I think that's the best description for it) and my hair is dyed to enhance the ginger tones (no lightening involved). This shampoo works decently to add some pigment back. It's not as vibrant as I would hope, but it's solidly reliable and very natural looking.
