No other generators available found this one at an ace hardware it ran the fridge, dog fence, light, fans and tv during the recent power outage in West Virginia. Yes it's small but it did the job. It ran for 6 hours at a time with out difficulty. Quality product!
Bought this unit for camping away from power and people. Supplies my trailer with power for the fridge, furnace, stereo, TV and charges my units battery if I need it to. Don't know how I got along without one for so long.Light and easy to move, start and hook up. I highly recomend this unit for and hardcore campers, very satisfied customer.
I used my 1600 watt Generac on a seven day camping and hunting trip this winter and it did very well providing power for lighting, microwave, and other items.
from the box and set up with oil and gas to starting and full operation was a 'cake walk'.
I am posting again as I posted before "Not recommending this product" Thjis is an update: I took my generator to Generac in North Bend, Wa. They stated a bad circuit boad and needed replaced after 25 hours and 14 months. They stated a 1 hour labor rate of 85.00 and 10-14 days. I picked it up yesterday and they charged me nothing in labor, even though was past 12 months. Not sure if shop or Generac themselves, but I am assuming an isolated case and will now update to recommend. Thank You generac, you did the right thing. It makes a BIG difference and again I will suggest your product.
I bought this for my boat to keep the batteries charged. They unit worked well, but was a little louder than I expected. The only thing I didn't like was if it wnet into an overload condition, there is no way to reset it other than turning it off and restarting. A breaker would be nice.
Taking it in to repair after 25 hours and 14 months. Motor is solid, starts first pull. Run's 100% with no load, overload light on with nothing plugged in. Generac gave me repair shop 40 miles away, I found one 8 miles away with google. They stated likely bad regulator. Next time I'll buy a Honda and skip this mess of KAOS and driving, calling all over heck for a relatively New generator. Warrany on labor expired. I may throw in trash and buy a honda or whatever if over 200.00 labor to fix. Sad.
Used my generator only a few times the overload light came on and would not go out. Sounds like I'm not the only one having these issues.
Had one last twenty months second one no spark out of the box and six months later to get a new one so hope it is good generac portable gens are poor or I got the two that had problems it took over 30 days to get a new one but read the warranty it says 30 days or reasonably amount of time. Save the hassle and go for the better one
With less than one tank of gas the generator overload light came on with nothing plugged in. Still under warranty retruned to authorized repair shop. The shop had 3 other iX models in for repair. After 6 months in the shop Generac finally replaced the unit. This repair shop will no longer sell Generac products or repair them.
