General Electric 14000 BTU 500 Sq Ft Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner with Electric Heat

I am not a fan of this particular air conditioner, and unfortunately it was the replacement that was available for my 30-year-old model. I do not like the current model. I am one who likes to be able to have a sleep mode on the air conditioner that actually turns on and off the air conditioner itself rather than having to have the air conditioner run and the sleep mode increasing or decreasing the temperature as the day goes on and I am forced to keep the air conditioner on all day. It is pointless to have a sleep mode that does not automatically turn on or off the air conditioner within a certain amount of time. I can't use this air conditioner because of it. Also, this air conditioner does not fit older sleeves, so I have to buy a sleeve and reinstall this air conditioner in order for it to be used properly. It comes with minimal insulation. When I do run it it works well, and cools decently, but is loud. I can't set up the Wi-Fi for this. It doesn't work.

It is another piece of Chinese junk. This is the 3rd replacement to a GE unit I purchased last year. The first didn't do anything out of the box, the second one GE sent only produced heat no AC and the 3rd unit that I got as a replacement yesterday again only heats. The AC compressor went on for 30 seconds after I just turned it on for the first time and then shut off. The fan when I first turned on the unit had 3 speeds but after the compressor shut off it only blew at a single speed. It heats but that is not saying much. My advice is to purchase a unit made by sone other company. I have had it with GE junk and will purchase a unit made by Freidrich or Amana. GE now is owned by a Chinese company that sells inferior products that are don't work right out of the box. It is sad because the unit I got in 2013 is still working but that was prior to GE being sold to a Chinese company.
