General Electric GE® model GTW465ASNWW 4.5 cu. ft. Top Load Washer with Stainless Steel Basket

This washer is the best. It functions how a real washer should and the features are great. I love that the lid is only locked during spinning instead of from the beginning of the wash, to the end of the wash. I am able to open the lid during a wash to add an item to the washer if needed. Also, I love that there is a deep fill option to add extra water in the wash. Plus, the multiple choices of water levels that actually cover the cloths with water. In addition, I love the many options of wash type, water temperatures, extra rinse, spin, and soak that this machine offers. The large stainless steel tub is fantastic and finally this washer does amazing at getting the clothes clean. The washer was delivered ahead of schedule, which was great. The only two negatives were: 1. the washer arrived with a dent, which it appeared to be the shippers fault from the condition of the packaging, and 2. The shippers were not allowed to bring the item into the house, which was an inconvenience and a challenge, but I was able to get help to get it into the house. Overall, I love the product. Now, the longevity of the machine is my what I am expecting.

I love the washer, it does what it’s suppose to do, but when it was delivered it was damaged with dents I can live with that, but I would think they should offer you more that $25.00 credit on Walmart.com, the sad thing was I had done already ditched my old one.

I have only had this washer for 2 1/2 years, and I have already had issues with the agitator coming undone completely due to a bolt that broke off, and now it quits mid-cycle. I am trying to run through diagnostic codes that I have seen on Youtube, however, I no longer have a manual and can't access one to diagnose the issue.

We received the washer, and it was damaged with 3 dents. We immediately contacted customer service for a replacement. We were told that they could not send a replacement, but that I could reorder the washer. Since the purchase, the price had gone up by approximately $100.00. I asked for the washer price to be refunded, so that I could purchase a new one and was told that Walmart would not refund the cost until it was picked up and processed. So, I asked when they would pick it up. I was told that I would be contacted by the shipping company in 1-2 days to schedule the pick up. After waiting for 2 days without any contact, I called customer service back. They told me that the return had not even been started and that the C.S. rep. apparently did not understand the correct process. This time the C.S. rep. scheduled the pick up while I waited on hold. I still have to wait another week for it to be picked up and for the refund process to be started! Meanwhile, I had to purchase another washer (definitely NOT from Walmart), and schedule that delivery with more time lost, and commit another large sum of money to this process! This situation is all because Walmart is not honoring their promise of sending quality merchandise and providing appropriate customer service when mistakes are made. I would recommend that anyone interested in a large purchase, NOT depend on Walmart backing up their merchandise.

Not even 6 years and it doesn't work. Drive went out and now it doesn't wash of spin. These companies make a cheap throw away products so you have to buy one every few years.

I waited over a week for the washer, and it came with the screen cracked. I called walmart, they only offered a refund, no replacement option, and not until its shipped back to them and inspected wich will take over a week, so im either left without a washer or paying brand new price for a broken one. As a single mother, I dont have time to wait for over a week with no washer and no money!! Unacceptable!!!

This machine does wash in enough water no matter what setting or cycles you use or how few clothes you put in, because it's all computerized. So the capacity is a null point. Whoever programmed this machine needs to be fired. Do not get fooled by the deep fill option or water level options. My partner has a HE Whirlpool and it preforms 100 percent better than this one because it USES WATER! Even the manual confirms that the clothes will not be submerged when washing. Crazy, right? My previous machine was a older GE so I thought going with GE would be a good decision. Boy, was I WRONG! This has been the absolute worst home appliance purchase I have ever made. Don't purchase this machine or take it if offered for free.

It does not spin well. When washing clothes. I have to end up bringing them out by hand when finish even after two spins

The machine is damaged and leaking upon first use. It's possible that one of these is the issue: damaged tub seals, faulty water line connections, broken water level switches, malfunctioning tub cover gaskets, or damaged seals between the drain hose and water pump. Not worth the hassle

Where is the option for negative stars? I HATE THIS THING!! I just finished another round with it (it won this one) and finally just threw the “unspun” clothes into dryer. This thing absolutely does NOT run in balance. Yes, we know how to load a washer. Our last washer, a brand that I should have rebought, obviously, rarely went off balance. This thing rarely runs in balance. I expect to have to replace the little green “this piece of dung is off balance again” light from excessive use. Compromise and work around are the only ways to make this junk heap work. GE should be ashamed of themselves passing this garbage off on paying customers. They should be ashamed of giving them away for free if they did. What would be second prize? Two of them? I would not sell this, and I would not give it away. It would be criminal either way. My next appliance will not be anything GE. I used to be impressed with their stuff. I wondered how a company who made such good things could possibly go bankrupt. Now I know. Awful, simply awful. Rant over until the next go round. Oh, it holds a lot, has a stainless basket, and makes a frightful lot of noise, mostly of the clanging and banging variety. Plenty of cycles too, topped off by a frustrating and utterly useless spin one. There, that's everything now.
