I bought the dehumidifier a couple of weeks ago, when my area was getting slammed with severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. I never realized how much moisture there was in my house. In the two weeks I've had it, I have probably emptied the bucket 15 times (at least). I love that it has smart dry (so I don't have to worry about adjusting it) and the empty bucket alarm so I'm not checking it all the time. I would definitely recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very happy with this dehumidifier. It drains into the crock in the basement so never a need to empty it. You can hear it running but not too noisy. The basement is dry and even clothes that get hung to dry dry very quickly. I'm very pleased with this product.
Small and mighty! Love the automatic feature that allows you to set a specific level. Have seen a dramatic improvement in my entire house. Make sure you put it in a central location in the house, and it will draw the moisture from the entire space. Noise is about as loud as a small box fan so after a while it's not very noticeable. Again, placement is key.
I just setup my new dehumidifier and it was very easy , hooked up garden hose to the the port for it was easy as well , just needed to reove bucket then tighten reinsert bucket , done an running, after 25 mins thehumidity has dropped 8 percent according to my external monitor I have to compare readings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After seven years we had to replace our GE dehumidifier so easy choice on what to replace it with...another GE dehumidifier. Great value!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was trying to dry a large basement room below 50% humidity. My older units operation was limited to 68 degrees and began icing up at 50%. This unit is rated to 41 degrees :). It dropped the humidity level below 40% in less than 12 hours A+++
It works great. Easy to move around in the basement. I do have a hard time pulling the filled water tank off from the dehumidifier, when it's full. Nice to have a handle or deeper indent on the sides, to pull it out.
Cannot be used with a garden one that has a knob to help tighten hose to dehumidifier. It helps dehumidifier to be up on a table if using a long garden hose in a basement. Donntforgetto block the casters
It is working and pulling a lot of water out of the air in my basement, The one issue I have is that it is VERY difficult to pull the "bucket" out to empty. I'm thinking of putting some vasaline on the bottom, but I'm hesitant to do this, fearing another issue.
Long term issue. Condensation builds up in the controller area trapping water (not moisture vapors) between the plastic shield and the bottom of the circuit board. This corroded the contacts and caused all control functions to stop working. Control area needs to be better isolated from the heat exchanger or maybe a small amount of dehumidified air needs to be circulating through the circuit board area. Sadly it's out of warranty or I would not have disassembled the unit.
