General Finishes Wood Bowl Finish B232-UL Quart

I use this finish all the time it's one of the best finishes especially for food grade finishes.

The application of this product was very simple and effortless. Used 4 coats. After sanding and assuring surface (butcher block island and counter tops) was clean and smooth, applied product with discarded, clean socks. 4 coats with about 24 hrs in between applications. Before each new application, smooth lightly with paint thinner and steel wool, then reapply product. No offensive smell with the exception of the paint thinner. Have used hand rubbed waxes in the past, and much prefer this product. Used on a surface that will include food prep.

Great product for a beautiful finish.

I used this on wooden mugs I built to use at the renaissance festival. I put on a total of 3 coats to keep the beer and wine from soaking into the wood. A year later, the inside of the mug still smelled like the product. I had tried leaving water with baking soda or beer in it to try to absorb or change the smell. I don't know what I could have done differently. I ended up sanding the finish out, and finished with a different salad bowl finish product.
