Genuine Frigidaire WF2CB Ice and Water Filter

Sometimes there's just no getting around getting the OEM (Factory) example of the accessory item to your appliance purchase. For my Frigidaire, the water filter was important, though I admittedly use water from Brita rather than the fridge. Brita is $10 for a year of water while the Frigidaire is $40. I use the filter only for the ice, where there's no substitute. I actually get 5 years from each filter change because, again, I don't use gallons of water daily but only the ice. So, buy Frigidaire, or Electrolux brands, both by and from the same company.

When we purchased a new filter a couple of years ago, it would go in but as soon as you pressed the tab to get water, it would pop out. The Frigidaire web site showed how to fix this step-by-step. The part needed was behind where the filter snaps in, and was not very expensive. You do have to take the lines, etc. apart, but the video shows how to do this very clearly. It took a bit of time to pause the video while following the instructions, but it worked and no leaking or popping out since then. Its time to order a replacement filter, so hopefully no problems with the new filter.

I just replaced my refrigerator water filter, and notice that although the newly purchased brand name Frigidaire filter looks identical to the one I replaced, and the price has not been changed; the capacity - as specified on the (new, red) package - has been decreased from 400 gallons to 200 gallons between recommended changes. What is the reason for this?

Bought and installed a new filter. After flushing two quarts through the system it still tastes heavy and unable to drink it. The unit must be defective in some way and I will return it. The existing filter is fine and I will continue to use it instead

Same thing here, when attempting to replace an older filter with the PureSource2 (WF2CB recommended), the filter slides in correctly, but it will not snap in place. Support line is very bad, spent 2 hours and ask me check Kijiji? seriously?

Just installed a new filter. I ran three or four cups of water through the filter. It tasted like poison. I'll take it back for a refund as the part MUST be defective. How is that even possible?
