Do it yourself
Was happy to find the part here cheaper and free to store shipping. Easy to do it yourself repair. Just watched some troubleshooting/repair videos.

Whirlpool Thermostat, 279973
I was hesitant buying a technical component for my Whirlpool dryer from Walmart at first. I didn't, at the time, associate Walmart with these types of parts. However, they offered free shipping to the store, texted me when it arrived for pickup, and it arrived early. The part was exactly what I needed and now the dryer is working fine and the wife is happy and that's the most important thing.

Worked well for a whirlpool dryer or matched the original part. Buy or borrower a multimeter to test your original part. Easy to pickup from a local Walmart
