So, intro to microscopes in science class prompted my boy to ask for one for his birthday. This was a great into microscope. Had him occupied for awhile :)
We bought this microscope for Christmas for our 6 yr old grandson. We were very happy with the way it worked! He will have many hours of fun looking at the slides it came with but also making his own slides. It is very kid friendly but not a toy-we like that. The light and magnification work well and easily for our grandson to use. He needed a bit of help at first but can now use it himself.
Bought for my 11 y/o grandson who lives 1500 miles away. I bought it to keep him busy during the pandemic, but their area didn't get it as badly as we did. He used it a little, but may use it more in the winter. I think his mom is letting him spend more time playing video games...
I purchased it for my 10-yr old granddaughter and she has been using it ever since it arrived. The one we received was turquoise - her favorite color so that was an added treat. It's very sturdy and has slides and other items to do the projects, including a booklet to guide you through the projects and project suggestions. My granddaughter said, "It's great for someone who likes to explore and go outside and have fun."
This is a great gift for a 7 year old - or so - as a first microscope with prepared slides and directions to make your own. I already recommended it to my sister, for her grandchildren.
Shes 11 its perfect for her.brings out the scientist's in her.
Grandson has been using everyday since he got it. Always trying to find something new to examine.
My 7yr old really enjoyed it looking at all different things and I bought additional slides for him. I must also say the light didn't work properly after the second day, and I was not able to get two of the screws out of the base to put the batteries in, but with the one screw out I was still able to put the battries in. Thank goodness the base was made of some sort of rubber, but for the price its pretty cool.
...the lighting ciuld have been a lot easier.
This does not come with a case and the plastic it was contained in, inside the box was all cracked when I received it, as if it had already been bumped around. I didn't go any further and returned it. As this is really a child's microscope, it doesn't make sense for it not to come in a case for storage and transporting.
