Gerber Suspension NXT Multi Tool, Spring Loaded

I acquired this Gerber Suspension NXT-15 Multi-tool because I always need a Knife or a Screwdriver or Pliers or Wire Cutter, seems like there is always something I do not have with me. Well, this certainly solves the problem, now I have it all right in my pocket. The Multi-tool is very well made and the accessories are strong enough for the toughest jobs, it is modern stylish and not as heavy as you would think. It has a strong clip to clip to your belt or pocket or, you can purchase a nice holster for convenient carrying. I used it several times the first day. If you are a handy person or just keep busy with little projects you will love this Tool. With a limited Life-Time warranty you know it's gotta be good.

There are a variety of the multi-tools on the market. I judge them on a handful of qualities. First and most important to me is a quality set of scissors. Not the cheap Swiss knock-off scissors found on the dollar store pocket knives. I need something good for small details where I'm using the very tip to snip with. This has precision scissors that set the bar for anything I buy in the future. Next is the variety of tools included. See my pics for views of them all. I thought the combo bottle cap opener and can-opener was well designed. Beside a knife blade, it has an inch long sharp scraper wedge. Useful when you don't want dull your primary knife but need a sharp edge for a task. Finally the build quality holding it all together is critical. This has a heft to it. The unit unfolds into the usual pliers. But you can also unfold just one side, such that it makes a long handle for the tool being used. This is even recommended in the directions, as it gives an extra grip and balance to doing things like using the screwdriver. It includes a side clip and lanyard hole to help carry it with you. Mine didn't include a case.

This is a very handy little tool, that easily clips on to your belt. It's just a tad over inches long, a inch and five-eights wide and three-quarters of a inch in height. It's surprisingly light weight for the tool itself, I had some doubts when I first got the item. It has surprised me for the times that I have used it, It has held up very well. The unfolding of the pliers are very easy and smooth, they lock open with a slight click. They open into a set of needle nose with a grooved tooth area and set of wire cutters. You have several knife blades, assorted screwdrivers, bottle and can opener and a pair of scissors. I did forgot to mention that it has a file on it, that file and scissors can in handy when I had to trim a broken nail on my wife's hand that she had caught on something and was very painful for her. The belt clip is a good length and shape, just wish it was a little stronger, I had it slip off my belt several times when climbing through a few areas. Overall, this a nice little lightweight, multi-tool that can be used in a lot of situations.

These are very nice. my work gave these out years ago and i misplaced it. I tried sone other cheap options but ultimately purchased this exact same one again. the tools lock in place and it has usable, functioning tools unlike some multitools that claim "x" amount of tools.

First I wish that packaging contained a manual of ALL of the features that are worked into this Multi-tool. The knife is sharp, so careful when opening it. Even though tool is small, it has BIG features contained into this compact Multi-tool. All the 'tools' seem useful and very functional. I think I've found another gift idea for several people. I'm now checking out their other Multi-tool offers to have another 'toy' that's very useful and functionable in my toolbox.

I have owned several different brands of multi tools. Some were OK and some weren't worth a hoot. This Gerber NXT is a quality made multi tool with all steel parts. I own several Gerber knives that have served me well over the years so I'm sure this multi tool will do the same. The main thing I was looking for in a multi tool to was a good sharp knife blade,pliers and philips and flat head screw drivers. This multi tool has all that and then some. It does have the 15 different tools but I must admit some are really lacking in usefulness. Case in point is the ruler. Not even 2 inches. Really? What good is that?Another problem I have is the fact it only has a belt clip which is OK but I would really like to have a snap case the fits on a belt. I lost one multi tool that only had a belt clip. The last thing I have a problem with are the (and this is just me,I'm 70 and wear glasses) are the printed info papers. Very tiny print. All thins considered this is a quality tool which I hope will last for years to come and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good multi tool.

I've always wanted one of these I use to have one but it was a different brand. I have always heard that Gerber make the best and this one sure looks like a good one. I like the fact that it has locks on all the tools so that they can not fold back in on you when you are using it. The only thing I did not like is the fact that it did not come with a case. I think a nice leather one would have been nice.

Very nice multi tool for reasonable money. Can't believe how many tools they put into these things these days. Going to replace my fishing pliers with these bad boys. All the other tools are a real plus for rigging tackle and fixing the occasional loose piece on the rod/reel. Belt clip is perfect as well when I hike in the woods. Nice product and looks pretty tough. I would definitely recommend this product if you want to purchase a full-featured multi-tool for reasonable $.

This pocket tool is OK, looks good but is hard to deal with. The back of the handles are just 4-strips of metal, rolled over but hollow in the middle - difficult to hold, cuts into palms and very wide in the closed position to be uncomfortable. All the “tools” are small, they do lock out in usage but unlocking is very difficult, 2-small tabs must be pushed down, at the same time on both sides of the handle. The needle-nose pliers are very small, could be good for fishing or fine work needing a tiny point, maybe not good for general work? One good design is a plastic insert that can be used for a lanyard for securing the tool. Over a fair product, would be thankful if given as gift, but would not buy it myself, as I have seen, had and owned better pocket tools from Gerber, but not all hits are out of the ballpark.
