Gerber Versafix Machete 9.0 in Blade Black Handle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has a very grippy handle that feels comfortable in hand, and comes packaged with a pretty standard-issue Nylon sheath. I've been reviewing quite a few machetes and kukris recently, and one of the things that most surprises me about the Versafix is how lightweight it is, even when compared to similar-sized blades in the “mini-machete” arena.

It's super versatile, small enough to do detailed work but big enough to chop. It comes with a sheath which was super handy and it feels great in your hand. It's the perfect blade to take with you camping and/or hunting.

I use less effort as it cuts through anything in my way. It has a comfortable handle that gives me a good grip. It comes with a sheath that holds it securely in place. It has a velcro closure to keep it in tact. It also has a belt loop holder.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machete does an excellent job at cutting back bush, however my main reason for getting this was to quickly skin the bark off of thick branches before sanding/smoothing. Regardless if whether you're getting one of these as a camping essential or for assisting in creative projects in the same way I'm an using it, this is an incredibly versatile tool — and you just cannot beat the lifetime warranty that comes with it. I used to live in Portland Oregon for a few years (where this machete was made) — so happy to support a brand from one of my favorite cities. All in all, this is a well-made, and overall excellent tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it. I was a little intimidated to open it as it is incredibly large, but when I held it, I felt as though it was durable and safe. I know it could be used for a lot of things, but I like to use it to open fresh coconuts.

The compact, machete-style blade is tough, and the weight distribution makes chopping easy. It handles everything from clearing brush to cutting wood without any issues. The ergonomic grip is comfortable, even during long use, and the full tang design adds strength and durability. It's lightweight enough to carry on hikes, but still powerful. Overall, a great addition to my outdoor gear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Item has a nice (even and solid) weight to it, so I don't anticipate any slippage when using. It is Incfeeibky sharp and cut down some branches for testing. The guard for it is really well made - I appreciate the option to slide it into the sleev/guard or open it and button it back up - I'm not worried at all that when sheathed correctly that anyone could get hurt. My husband said it was essentially a large kitchen knife as he was expecting the blade itself to be the length of the full knife for it to be considered a machete.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely a cool and durable machete. I could see it being very useful and portable for camping, however it definitely needs some sharpening before any major excursions. Very comfortable handle and holder it comes with.
