Gerber Versafix Machete Knife Hybrid Black 31 003473

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has a very grippy handle that feels comfortable in hand, and comes packaged with a pretty standard-issue Nylon sheath. I've been reviewing quite a few machetes and kukris recently, and one of the things that most surprises me about the Versafix is how lightweight it is, even when compared to similar-sized blades in the “mini-machete” arena.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it. I was a little intimidated to open it as it is incredibly large, but when I held it, I felt as though it was durable and safe. I know it could be used for a lot of things, but I like to use it to open fresh coconuts. 

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machete does an excellent job at cutting back bush, however my main reason for getting this was to quickly skin the bark off of thick branches before sanding/smoothing. Regardless if whether you're getting one of these as a camping essential or for assisting in creative projects in the same way I'm an using it, this is an incredibly versatile tool — and you just cannot beat the lifetime warranty that comes with it. I used to live in Portland Oregon for a few years (where this machete was made) — so happy to support a brand from one of my favorite cities. All in all, this is a well-made, and overall excellent tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This versafix fixed blade machete hybrid is a beast and very well made. Gerber has always been know to make high quality blade products that last. This machete came sharp and ready to use for various tasks such as spitting small pieces of wood , chopping small limbs around the property and cutting rough edges from some wood pieces we had laying around. It's got a great hand feel and is very ergonomic to handle with a textured large grip handle and stores nicely in the protective sheath provided. This will be a great tool coming up on deer season to keep in my off road vehicle.

Its versatile structure is useful to carry it when you go camping or for personal defense. It has different sides for different uses. It is light and made of water and shock resistant material.
