We used it the first few days on low. It did a nice job of keeping the air circulated and making the room feel fresher being closed up during the winter. The medium and high settings are loud, much like having a fan running in the summer. The high setting did a fantastic job of clearing out a smoky kitchen from an indoor grill in just a few minutes. After an hour or so you'd never be able to smell what was cooked. Running daily on the low setting has made a noticeable difference in pet hair and dust and in our breathing. It's something I should have bought a long time ago.

To set the stage, I frequently suffer from allergy symptoms of watery eyes, runny nose, stuffy nose and chronic cough. I had the whole series of allergy testing done and the allergist recommended I purchase a HEPA-filtered air purifier. Now that I own this Germ Guardian 22" Tower Air Purifier with HEPA and carbon filter, my only regret is not owning this sooner. It has been a difficult year of very high pollen levels, lots of dog hair shedding and pet dander in my household with the heat of the Summer, and severe air-quality issues from all the wildfires. I can honestly say that since using this air purifier my symptoms have improved. This is not a medical claim, by any means, but I do feel better now than before I began using it. It does make sense, however, due to the HEPA filters' ability to capture dust, pet hair, pet dander, and smoke. It is also simple to use, easy to tuck away in an inconspicuous corner of the room, and relatively quiet. When used on the low speed, I couldn't even tell it was on. The high speed is very noticeable, but not more than your standard fan or bothersome. I also feel more confident using this GermGuardian Air Purifier due to not having to worry about checking the filters at all; instead the LED light on the unit will tell me when it's time to replace the filter. All in all, I am extremely pleased with the ease of use and results, and will make it part of my everyday life.

I've had the air purifier in my bedroom for the last eight days and it's doing a great job making the air smell fresh. I've been dealing with a neighbor who smokes early in the morning, and the air purifier clears the bedroom air in about 15 minutes. The lowest speed is the quietest and pleasant white noise. I recommend the product, while wishing the smoker would stop waking me up with the odor.

My husband is a lifelong smoker, and although he doesn’t smoke in the house, the smell still seeps in from our attached garage. It’s been on my mind to get an air purifier. I bought this one to help freshen the air during the winter when I can’t open windows. The very first day I noticed a big difference. Right out of the box all you do is plug it in. The controls are simple, which I love. It runs quietly and does the job. It is attractive, as well.

Best HEPA air purifier I’ve ever used, hands down. I only have 1 cat, but have multiple litter boxes around the house for her. I’ve bought different HEPA air purifiers over the years looking for one that will be good for the air quality and will cut down on kitty litter dust and scent in the room where her litter boxes are. Most HEPA purifiers will cut down on kitty litter dust really well, but I’ve never found one that actually takes away the kitty litter smell from the room. I clean her litter multiple times a week, but you can still generally tell that there is a litter box in the room. This is the first air purifier I’ve used that actually makes the room smell like there isn’t a litter box in the room. This obviously doesn’t apply to when the litter box needs to be cleaned, but with my regular sifting routine, I can step into the room with one of her litter boxes and it usually smells just like a room that doesn’t have a litter box in it. I also like how it’s small and pretty slim. It’s really powerful and pretty quiet for such a small air purifier. As long as it’s in a room that’s around the recommended room size for the machine, this little guy is the best.

This has been a game changer. My family got the present of Flu B for Christmas. With all the coughing going on I decided it was time to try an air purifier. It has not disappointed. Quiet, easy to use and was delivered in a few hours with Walmart . Highly Recommended. I liked that I can get whatever type of filter I want allowing me to have some decision making in my air purifier rather than being stuck in one mode only.

My son has asthma and allergies so I bought one for his bedroom. I liked it so much I bought one for my bedroom as well. At the highest setting, it does have a noticeable sound. However, I got rid of my white noise machine as it this provided a pleasant background sound for sleeping.

can no longer smell the kitty litter in my home! the only downside to this air purifier is that it works so well I can't smell any scented candles either!

I hate it when Walmart repackages return items! then sells them as new! the blue light ( the UV light) does not come on at all. I love my first one, but Walmart did a fast switch selling me one that only filters air. custom are not stupid! and will consider shopping somewhere else!

We have mast cell activation and needed something to filter VOC’s, chemicals and dust. This is advertised to do all of the above. It put off an odor that I can only describe like a skunk. Smelled up our entire house. We used our other air purifier to try to remove the smell and 12 hours later, it still smells!! It’s got myself and two kids sick. Little contradicting for something that is supposed to help with removing odors to actually cause them. Awful and would not recommend for anyone.
