Game changer!! I have control of my farm while I didn't live there. Nice to let in the farmers and other contractors instead of sharing physical keys. I know the gate can be busted through but it's a deterrent. Compliment it with cameras (ring for me) and you feel at peace having control while your not at the property.
The Ghost Controls works great. I am happy with my purchase. Especially love the phone app to open and close the gates from anywhere.
Superb product and great value. Only recommendation is to ensure customer has an option for the battery ghost container which was not part of the Kit, but is essential for the solar system. Recommend providing a menu so we can custom purchases with a discount for Kit purchases. This way you get exactly what you want. Several items were not used or needed.
The app works great with this gate. Install and set up went easy. It's been installed a month now and so far I'm pleased with the purchase.
We recently got a dual kit for our farm and love it! It's easy to use and put together. Well designed and sturdy!
It was easier to install than I was expecting. The instructions and videos were helpful and the gate is working well
Great system. Worked exactly as it should. Easy to install. We are very please
The Ghost Controls TDS2 is a dependable, DIY-friendly dual-swing gate opener that shines in residential setups. Its control board is clearly labeled—especially the HARDWIRED INPUTS block—so adding smart control is painless. We wired a Tailwind iQ3 in the garage over ~150 ft of Cat6a to the gate and simply landed two wires on CYC/COM; the magnetic sensor stayed on the Tailwind harness. Because the trigger is a dry contact, long cable runs are trouble-free and polarity doesn't matter. Performance is consistent once limits are learned. The system supports photo-eyes and an electric lock via LOCK (+/–/S), which is crucial for solid-panel gates that catch wind. Dual-leaf coordination works well; you can choose SIMUL (both leaves start together) or STAG (latch delay). Power options are flexible—AC transformer plus battery (or solar) keeps cycling reliable. Trade-offs: There's no speed adjustment; travel rate is fixed by the motor/geartrain. You can shorten the overall cycle by reducing travel or using SIMUL, but you can't make the arms physically move faster. Documentation could better spotlight common smart-home hookups and push-button wiring. Native HomeKit isn't included (not unusual in this category), so a third-party controller like Tailwind or iSmartGate is the clean path. Installation best practices that made a big difference: add a mechanical center stop at the meeting stile, install photo-eyes before enabling auto-close or voice control, keep hinges tight/lubed, and consider an electric lock for wind resistance. For wiring, bond the Cat6a shield at the garage end only and weatherproof outdoor splices. Suggested improvements for Ghost: a dedicated “smart integrator” page in the manual, a dry-contact closed-status output, an optional local-API/Matter smart module, gentle soft-start/stop or speed profile, and a wind-ready kit bundling a center stop and electric lock. Bottom line: robust, straightforward, and very smart-home friendly with a bridge—an excellent residential choice for dual-swing gates.
Installed four days ago, love it… when it works. After programming 3 remotes and wireless keypad, and confirming all work, the system stops working if ac power is cut even though new 12v 8ah battery is installed. Had to unplug a couple times to fix an electrical issue at gate outlet box, but when I plug back in none of the remotes or keypad work and I have to reprogram them all. My concern is we live in a place where we have brief (10-30 second) power outages and bad storms that cut power, and these situations would result in no controller allowing me to open the gate without unpinning the arms.
I had same set up and worked great only problem once a year i need to buy a new since it seems lightning in my area isnt a good thing first year I as 2 arms and control board now whole nee system since then i grounded the control board but we will see this year what happens 3 systems in 3 years. Since iha e new ones one i cant seem to set it up to open and close properly so nee systems been installed last 3 weeks but hasnt actually worked set it up and followed directions and pops fuses over opens and all sorts of crap now when setting set points it wont reset now so im about done with ghost controls i love product but for me dependability doesn't seem to be there.
