Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex Complete Season 2 (Blu-ray)

Ghost in the Shell sac2 manages to continue the tradition of its previous namesakes. The Major is a smart and fun female action hero trying to maintain order as a special ops police officer in a dangerous future world very similar to our own. The sci-fi element is smartly written and performed by the voice actors. The animation is beautiful !

Season 1 is better but this is still a fantastic show.

First, this seems to be legit. Well, at least the discs are not single-layer Blu-Rays. If you've seen the trouble I've been having with DVD TV releases like Voyager and DS9, you know why I'm starting with this. OK, let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. They didn't make any enhancements to the Blu-Ray release. This series was originally made for CRT viewing, and the jittery movement at some points makes that painfully obvious. Now, with that said, this is arguably some of the best writing in any anime series. The first season was OK, but the second one was just amazing. And for $18 you are getting the complete series for less than you would have spent for a single DVD volume back in the day. It's also worth mentioning that there were 7 DVDs, whereas there are only 4 Blu-Rays. So, less disc swapping. This is probably the best way to watch the series. If you haven't seen it already, I would heavily urge you to pick this up.

This was meant to be a four-disc set containing the entire second season. As soon as I opened the packaging, I knew something felt odd. Sure enough, I removed the cellophane wrapping and opened the jewel to find it empty! The jewel case was broken, and there wasn't even a spindle holding the discs in place!
