Ghostbusters 6" Elite Abby Yates

Abby is definitely one of my favorite movie characters ever. And this action figure is a great toy. Precisely what I wanted.

This review is what I like and happy children as from the start of this toy were excited. they saw the movie so from the first moment she was identified. Now I recommended them to my friends who would be great for next Christmas gifts. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My daughter had fun playing with this toy! She is very imaginative, and loves role playing, and that is what she did with this toy. It is super jointed, you can position her very easily. Even her feet are jointed! Her proton pack can be removed. If you choose to do so. She can even hold the blaster in her hands, which is cool. She can be positioned to stand as well. My five year old also reviewed this toy and had some great things to say: "It's girly.", "It's tough.", and "It's girl tough". "It's ghostly.", "It's girl ghostly". "I like that the glasses stay on." "It's super bendy." "I like the ghost hands." "It has a pump tank, I like it to get the ghost." "Oh! And she's cool!" All quotes from my 5 year old Kindergartener who had fun testing out Abby Yates. As a kid, I loved the original Ghostbusters movie, and it's neat to see women featured in the new movie and that there are women featured as role models for girls! I would have loved to have had the original crew when I was a kid, I watched that movie over and over again. Only negative is that the whole ghost is not provided. You have to collect all four Ghostbusters to piece together the whole ghost. But to be fair, that is very clearly stated on the box. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My 4 year old chose to receive Abby Yates from the ghostbusters collection. He was so excited to see her and the extra parts she came with. She is a beautifully designed character with gorgeous details. My son enjoyed looking at her and playing with her for a few minutes. Then he thought it would be better if we had other characters too. My 4 year old was so excited to receive this toy. Abby has been adopted into a family of Barbies, trains and Superhero dolls. She loves the fact that Abby has so many moving parts. She thought that her glasses came off and in an effort to remove them she broke them. So that is the only weakness that I could see in the toy. Great quality and wonderful packaging. It was very easy to remove her from the packaging, which when it comes to a new toy no child wants to wait forever to get it out of the packaging. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a well made action figure. The backpack is removable via straps which are sturdy. The figure is poseable (joints at ankles, knees, elbows.) The character looks realistic enough - if not an exact replica of Melissa McCarthy, it's a good enough resemblance and the body is in its jumpsuit, and looks like a normal, average body. It could also pass for Janeane Garafolo. While this toy is absolutely safe and suitable for ages four and up, I don't know how many 4 year olds have seen the new movie (which, incidentally, is way more family-friendly than the original as far as adult content and language is concerned.) The buildable "collect and connect" bad guy pieces are an incentive to buy all four figures. A solid collectible for adults as well as kids, and my older son (8) didn't blink about playing with a female action figure. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
