Yes, stickers are a nuisance, but I love my set!!!

SayYesToJesus December 11, 2013

I read and laughed out loud on some of the things people were saying about the stickers being such a pain in the neck, but when I unpacked the sets I was awestruck by the handmade glazing, and the overall feel of the material and its looks. I was able to get the 'hand crafted' stickers off the bowls fairly easy, but the glue was still remaining. However, since they were on the outside of the pieces, I don't care to clean them off completely for now. The other white stickers are easy to remove, and they're on the bottom, so it's no issue. The small plate pieces don't have 'hand crafted' stickers at all, and just the big plates have them on the inside (and they are so flat on the plate that I'm thinking to just leave them on, it won't affect the food put on them LOL), and the mugs have the stickers on the outside as well. Don't mind the elbow grease to get them off! ;-P The set is worth it! Stickers aside, this is a great value for a BEAUTIFUL and sturdy set, and you could use it for entertaining or for every day use, they are that versatile! I bought two 16 piece sets to have enough for entertaining 8 for special occasions! They came fast, and very well packed, no damage. I haven't use them yet, but I know they will be a stylish, and practical addition to our home! Happy shopping!

Just purchased and very pleased with this set.

Trish53 November 12, 2012

The colors are vibrant with the brown trim on the plates having a nice texture. Note the dinner plate is deep and may be a challenge to fit in your dishwasher rack. Durability? I accidentally whacked a plate and feared it would break, but not even a chip!

Beautiful Dishes

Leslie November 22, 2013

Just received these dishes and put them in the dishwasher. They cleaned up like a dream. Plates easily stack and are just the right size. The dinner plate seems smaller than a round plate but I don't think they are. I just love these dishes. I've washed them again and no problems. The color is so pretty, ever time I use them I smile.

Overall Good Value for Everyday Dishes

cajunjake August 29, 2013

This is overall a "Good Buy" for a decent set of dishes to be used everyday. Wife loves the color scheme, and the size of all the plates, bowl, and coffee cup. Pros: - Good Bang for the Buck! Can't find a better deal elsewhere for each 16 Piece Set. - Good heft to the dishes - right weight feel for each item. - Durability appears to holding up after two weeks of continued use - no chipping, or paint peeling noted. Plates are stamped as "Microwave and Dishwasher Safe" - confirmed via daily usage. It was noted that the plates do get just a little warmer than our previous stoneware set when run thru the microwave oven. Cons: - This set is normally not carried at our local WALMART - had to be mailed. - Can't think of anymore. Overall, you can't beat the deal for this. Definitely worth your time to look at if you are in the market. We ended up purchasing a 32 piece set (this equates to 8 place settings) then bought another 16 Piece set (4 place settings) and stored this set away to be used as "future spares" to replace broken pieces, or for temporary expansion during holidays and special occasions.

Beautiful Dinnerware Set

OnlineShoppingMamma December 2, 2013

Set looks just as good as the picture. Only downside is the stickers they put on all of the pieces. There are upc stickers on the bottom and a clear sticker on all of the pieces except the dessert plates (smaller ones). The clear stickers are hard to remove, and if you can get them off, they leave a residue that requires a lot of elbow grease. I did find, that when pulling off the stickers, they start to separate. Pull off the clear top layer, and the bottom layer is easier to get off. These would get a 5 star rating if they left off all the stickers. No one wants to get new dishes, and spend the first week trying to get them clean.

Eye catching set good for portion control.

Mealmeister November 14, 2013

The set came well packed with no breakage or nicks. I accidentally "clanked" a couple plates together unloading the dishwasher yet no damage. Each piece is heavy which is to be expected and, in my mind, desirable in stoneware. The color of the rim is indeed a deep, deep brown highlighted by the inner band of flecks and attractive blotches (wish I could think of a better term) of dark gold to orange/rust that's roughly 3/8" wide (it varies around the plate). The green/blue (is that teal?) center is very attractive. I look forward to showing them off for guests. My "portion control" comment refers to the shape/profile of the plates. The dinner plates are slightly less than 10.5" "square". The flat center of the plate is 3/4" below the level of the outer rim. Between the 1" rim and the curve down to the flat bottom of the plate, that flat area on which most of the food will be placed is only about 7 1/4" "square". The side/dessert/salad plates are 8" "square" with a similar , proportional profile (limited food area). Mugs are large and I love the large, LARGE bowls (although they take up much dishwasher space). I really like the set and would give them 4 1/2 stars if that were an option on this review page.

A LOT of elbow grease needed.

KMDM November 3, 2013

Beautiful set. Read on. The labels on each piece, both plastic and paper took two days of soaking in vinegar and scrubbing with baking soda to remove. It was a real challenge. The company should know this! I purchased service for eight, they came boxed, so why is it necessary to mark each piece twice? Some of the pieces still have shadows of those labels (the plastic ones), even after all of this work. If they must be labelled individually, and twice, please consider using a more solvent glue, or specific directions on how to remove the labels without marring the surfaces. I love the set, or I would be returning it, along with an invoice for my materials and labour.

Be careful

Janeyzl December 20, 2013

The appearance is really beautiful, which is much the same with the pictures on line. Just had it for less than a week, so don't know much about its durability, it's heavy though. However, I'm going to return the set. Yesterday I washed them in my dishwasher, took out one mug while it was still wet, and then dried it with paper tower. Then the black paint came off, and got onto the paper tower. I've no idea what's the black paint made of, whether it's toxic. I'm going to return the set any ways, I'm not going risk my health.

Love them, but ONE problem.

Shawnee23 December 18, 2013

I really love this dinnerware set. BUT, when I got them home and was unpacking them, one of the larger plates had a big chip off the corner of one. I was not happy about it, at all. But with my past experiences with Walmart, I knew that it would be a bigger pain in the butt than what it was to get a new one. I ordered them at the beginning of November, and they said it was lost in transit. So I had to reorder it, and I was not happy. Now I'm still not happy. The dinnerware set itself is beautiful. I'm just not happy with the way it was delivered and how I received it.

Broken and touched up

soccermom3boys April 2, 2014

First of all, this was supposed to be Better Homes and Gardens brand and the one that was sent to me was made by someone else. Also, many of the dishes were broken upon opening the boxes and some that were not broken looked like they had been chipped and then touched up before being shipped to me. I was very disappointed.
