My husband uses these razors and loves them. He gets the clean shave that he wants with no nicks or irritation. I even like how smooth my legs feel when I "borrow" his razor ;) my only complaint would be how expensive razors and refill blades are but this goes for all of them. This refill is comparable in price to most others of the same caliber.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried out the razor today, and it gave a nice and smooth shave without any nicking or discomfort. Handle fits the hand well. Glides easily on the skin. Looking forward to using it more in the next few days!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the world of Quattro blades I found myself asking, will 3 blades be enough? After a weekend without shaving I was ready to test out the Mach 3 against my stubble. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I expected to be underwhelmed coming from my "Quattro" however I was quickly converted. I loved the smaller size if the 3 blade design, it got the hard to reach areas better than the chubky 4 blade razors. It was a smooth shave, no pulling or snagging. I look forward to cleaning my face off again with it tomorrow morning.
The Gillette Mach 3 is a good razor blade. My husband has used these for many years for facial hair as well as shaving his head. It gives a smooth cut with no nicks. They are a bit expensive but well worth it for the quality. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gillette Mach3 provided a very good shave, however to achieve a really close shave I had to go over the same spots multiple times. To its credit the lubrication strip allowed me to do multiple passes without any noticeable redness or chafing. The feel of the razor seemed a bit ‘light' but that could be due to me being used to a much sturdier and heavy razor. As for the longevity of the blades, I have used it five times so far and the fifth shave seemed to do just as good a job as the first. Overall the Mach3 provided as good as or slightly better shave then comparable three blade razors.
The new lubrication strip is too tacky and slimy, and the blue dye doesn't look right, aesthetically, compared to the white/blue combo that was on the blade before. At the very least, change the hue to the same as the blue rubber comb, or back to the white and blue hue that was on it before. Making it less slimy would also be great. I understand that this was probably done to cut costs, but, nevertheless...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit skeptical of a “3 blade disposable” razor since I'm used to my 5 blade w/edging blade premium razor, but if you read on, you can see that skeptics can be changed..... Absolutely LOVE this razor for being a 3 blade razor! I typically use 5 blade razors with an edging blade on the backside for lines and doing, but having the opportunity to use Gillette's Mach 3 razor, I was not disappointed. The lubricant strip kept my face slick in combination with my shave cream. The skin guard protected against knicks and bumps, and the handle felt like a premium handle! I believe Gillette is marketing this product as a “disposable”, however if they can package these three blade cartridges with lubricant strips and skin guard at a reasonable price, this set will make it in my toiletry bag for overnight trips, vacations, and getaways! You're onto something Gillette. Keep up the great work!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received notification I could participate in a Gillette Mach3 Razor review I thought, "what is this, 2002?". In fact, it wasn't. First introduced in 1998, the Mach3 is approaching 20 years keeping folks clean shaven. Up front, I want to admit I use a Gillette Fusion for my daily shaves, but I did use a Mach3 in the past. I was expecting a slight degradation from the Fusion's performance, and I didn't really get one over this short review period. I used the Mach3 a total of 7 times. While I use a non-Gillette brand shaving cream/lotion, I was impressed with the Mach3's ability to smoothly take my moderate daily scruff straight down to the skin. I shaved 5 times on 24 hour scruff and twice on 48 hour scruff, and it was able to provide a smooth, tight shave with no irritation. Another thing I appreciated was how simple and light the razor is (see picture compared to my Fusion). Something basic and clean was appreciated. The other demographic I believe could benefit from a Mach3 are those that are just learning to shave. Save some money, and buy this for your teenagers instead of higher priced options. It will easily handle their fuzz. That said, I haven't been able to test the limits of the cartridge's performance. I plan to use it until the cartridge needs replacing, and I depending on the results I may actually permanently switch BACK to the Mach3! The cartridges are about 30% cheaper than fusion refills, and considering I shave every day for work, that cost can add up! Even after 20 years and apparent "advancements in shaving technology" from other razors, the Mach3 still gives a terrific shave and compares well against higher priced razors. Give it a shot if you're up in the air on your razor decision.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I was throughly impressed by this razor on first use, I was not as impressed the second time around. The comfort of the handle is on point, and my first shave felt fabulous, especially after the last year of razor club razors. The second shave (my beard is not as thick as others) seemed like it had already deteriorated the blade and did not feel as good as the first. I have not had a chance to try it again, but if my 10th shave feels as good as my second, I will up my rating on this product. As a user of many different razors over the years, including many Gillette product (like my shaving cream!) I would say this fits the bill as average, and we shall see over time if it's "excellent"
Razors are excellent, but u need a chain saw to open the package. Must be made for direct 30,000 ft drop for our troops
