Give Up The Ghost

This is the first experience I have had with Brandi Carlile and it is a great set of tunes. I thought it would be more "country" but it really isn't what I would call country. More acoustic and soulful than country. I have been listening to it at work and it is perfect- catchy tunes that most eveyone likes. She has a wonderful voice that makes the songs interesting. I will be buying some more Brandi Carlile!!

Brandi Carlile has such an amazing voice – almost haunting. This new album is very moving and a great mix of music. Some of my favorite songs on the album are “Looking Out”, “Dying Day” and “Dreams”. Her style is truly unique with a blend of folk, pop, and a dash of country. “Caroline” is a perfect example of a song with a style that is reminiscent of older music with a new twist. It is refreshing to hear such talent across the board – wonderful voice, great (and unique) instrumentals, as well as beautiful and meaningful lyrics. Giving up the Ghost is a great album and follow-up to The Story.

What a great artist! She got me hooked with DREAMS and has stirred my interest to find out more about what else she has done. The songs on her album "Give Up the Ghost" are deep and lasting. I enjoy many of her tunes, but especially love LOOKING OUT and DYING DAY. This is an album that I will listen to over and over, although there are no songs that I dislike.

I found the simplicity of the music to perfectly compliment to the rich emotion nature of Carlile's voice and lyrics. Having enjoyed her previous work I was not disappointed and have found each song uniquely wonderful, especially enjoying That Year and Before It Breaks.

I just listened to Brandi Carlile's new CD "Give Up The Ghost" . This is a great CD. I had never heard of Brandi Carlile before so I didnt know what to expect. She has a great voice and the songs are very good. She reminds me of Melissa Ethridge (who I love). I would recomend checking out this CD.

Brandi Carliles, Giving Up The Ghost, is one of my all time favorite albums in the last year. I have listened to this album more times than I can count. The songs have a country folk sound that is twinged with pop. Brandi has this unique voice that showcases her songwriting and storytelling abilities. Her band members Celloist Josh Neumann, Phil and Tim Hanseroth help make this album unique and memorable. My favorite tracks are Dreams and Dying Day They touch you heart in a soulful way and leave you wanting more. Dreams, has a classic old sound that I remember listening to many years ago. With the help of producer Rick Rubin, this album Giving Up The Ghost is one of Brandis best. I recommend it to any and all ages.

This is a great relaxing, upbeat cd. I love her voice. I would recomend this cd to anyone that just wants to sit back and relax and enjoy some good music

I'm loving her music! I was given Brandi's new album to review and after downloading it I can safely say she's going to be a HUGE star soon. I can't believe I haven't heard of her before. What I really love is that I can actually understand the words she's singing and that her songs have such meaning. I definitely a fan of hers now! I have to say I put all of this album on my MP3 the after the first time I listened to it.

I had never heard of Brandi Carlile until a friend gave me her “GiveUp the Ghost” CD to listen to. It struck me right away as very folksy and earthy. It was very unique and unlike anything else I have heard recently. The album has a universal appeal that could be classified in either a country-rock or pop genre. The more I listened to the CD the more I liked it and it soon has become one of my favorite CD's. Brandi has a beautiful voice and her lyrics are very personal and touching. Her songs are easy to relate to. She has a variety of upbeat songs that make you want tap-your-toes and get up and move. She also has some beautiful ballads. One of my favorites is “Caroline” with Elton John singing a duet. I cannot get these songs out of my head and find myself humming and singing them throughout the day. I am very glad that I was introduced to this confident, young artist. I feel we are only beginning to tap into her potential and will be hearing more from her in the future. This is a GREAT addition to your CD collection and I highly recommend it.

Give up the Ghost is the first Brandi Carlile album I've got the chance to listen to. It wouldn't be my last! She have this beautiful catchy voice. The songs in the album are meaningful one way or the other. So far I'm loving the songs "Looking out" and "Caroline". Give up the Ghost is a great addition to your collection. You'll love it like I do!
