I have been using Glad Zipper Food Storage Bags, Gallon Sized, 20 Ct for several years, and they still are just as great quality as always. There are so many uses, from storing leftovers, frozen foods, even items that are not food, but need to be kept together in one place, such as the electronic charging cords that I keep in mine. I recommend this product because they are versatile and easy to use. I received this product without payment and this is an unbiased review.
Finally a zipper bag that is just the right size for bigger jobs. I like to do crafts, and my husband likes to BBQ. We are both happy about the airtight seal and size of the one Gallon bag. Recently I received some roses and I decided to preserve their beauty by drying them out with silica gel. Using this process requires an airtight seal in order for the process to work correctly. I sealed the rose petal and sand in a Glad Gallon Zipper Bag and sealed it up. I am extremely happy with the results;your airtight seal worked and no moisture was able to get back n the bag and spoil the process. Your bag works to keep moisture in, as well as keep moisture out. Now, on to how my husband used your product to keep the corn on the cob fresh after husking it two days before he could BBQ it. He put the corn on the cob in a Gallon bag sealed it shut and put it in the refrigerator. Two days later he removed the (still fresh) corn on the cob from the bag, racked it up and cooked it over the BBQ. It was GREAT. He also uses the bags to marinate meat in the Glad Zipper Bags by placing the marinate and meat in the bag, sealing it up and letting it sit in the refrigerator until it is time to be cooked. No leaks means no mess.
These are good seal bags. Use them for food or what ever they come in handy to store.
I recommend this product for its durability when opening and closing the seal. It was ample space for storing items in the refrigerator or just things in general like doll clothes and various craft items. I do not recommend anything to liquid cause I tested it with just plain water to see if there was leakage at the seal and there was a bit. Over all this product was great. **side note, who ever is in the shipping department has to be more considerate when shipping off certain items. My bags came in a FedEx bag and was completely crushed.
These bags are a great value. They are durable, and the zipper lock is reliable. There are any number of zipper storage bags out there, and some less expensive. The glad gallon storage bag is a sensible choice. Great weight and durable zipper lock. These bags have never leaked or ripped and I've over filled many of them.
Typically the Glad Zipper Food Storage Bags are used for food, but I've found it handy for organizing my wax melts, scarves and some makeup. They are an incredibly versatile storage tool and since they're transparent it makes it easy to find things easily. I love how sturdy the zipper lock is, too. There are 20 bags per box, which is just right. The zipper seal was a bit wider than I expected, which makes for a tighter seal. The thickness of the bags are ideal too...not flimsy and not too thick. The only complaint I had was when the box arrived to me, it was slightly damaged. Other than that, it was fine.
These Glad Storage Bags are of excellent quality. They are durable and as most people know have a variety of uses. Although they are not freezer bags I use them to freeze food for a day or two. They have a nice wide seal which is easy to seal and open. However, the blue turns to green claim, so you know the bag is closed, doesn't really work. I can not see much if any difference between the blue and green. As you can see in the picture, one is sealed and the other is not but there really isn't any difference in color. If the bags are wide apart you can tell, but then you would obviously know they are not sealed. This is not an important factor to me so I would recommend them.
These bags are thinner than the same size Ziploc bags. They do have wide zippers that are a bit easier to zip up than the Ziploc ones. They are pretty similar though so it's a matter of preference - Glad with thinner plastic but easier to manage extra-wide zippers whereas Ziploc has thicker plastic but not as cool zipper.
It actually can hold up to 3.4 liter of water, a little bit shy of a gallon. I use it for my kids' lunch, they have microwave at school lunch room for a hot lunch, and the bag is microwave safe and BPA free. It is big enough to hold a burger and some steamed vegetables. I also use it to marinate chicken drum stick and lamb rib the day before Barbeque, and lay them one by one in my fridge, the lock is tight enough, and no liquids ever come out. Not yet, but when my berries are ready to pick, I will use this bag to freeze some. Overall, it is a good product for daily use. Just remember, before microwave, open a little bit to let steam out.
The online name and description specifically states this is a gallon size FREEZER bag. However, the bags are only STORAGE bags, not freezer bags. I'm stuck with them. Totally wrong. Horrible. In looking at Walmart's website some more, I saw a title for quart size sandwich bags--but the description and picture are for gallon size freezer bags. These have to be ordered so don't know what will be delivered since the name and descriptions don't match the products. Will probably NOT be ordering anything from this seller on Walmart ever again.
