Great-product
I am a huge fan of stabilized rice bran, but Gleam and Gain kicks it up a notch! I have an ex race Arabian who always dumps weight in the winter and looks like a rescue horse by spring, no lie. I usually spend spring and summer putting as much weight as possible on him to get him thru the winter. I started him on Gleam and Gain 6 weeks ago, in addition to 1 cup corn oil/day and pellets. He's gaining weight in WINTER! Wooooot! Can't wait to see his summer coat, I'm sure it'll be dappled mahogany bay!
My recently retired 20 year old Oldenburg has always been a hard keeper, but last year when we tried moving him out to pasture, he quickly lost 100 lbs. I then tried Purina senior, LMF senior, and Triple Crown Senior (and we moved him from the shared pasture to his own big paddock where he wouldn't be bullied) combined with Cool Calories. Eventually I settled on Triple Crown Senior and decided to give Gleam and Gain a shot... It was the magic combination for him! He's now just on a single scoop a day from maintenance, and I feel like the tub lasts a long time. Photos here were taken six months apart. I've had him fifteen years and never seen him so dappled before! People tell me he looks like he's ten years old—not twenty!
I have a 3 year old OTTB mare who, when I bought her, desperately needed groceries and whose coat was quite dull, along with lots of old scars and missing fur from a pasture accident. She has been on this supplement for two weeks, and our barn staff and I have noticed a difference already. Her coat is shinier, the scars are filling in, and the fur is growing back better. In addition to adding more hay, she's filled in better and visibily looks more healthy. Great product and a good value. I plan on keeping her on this supplement for 2-3 months total to gain the weight back, and then switching her to Smart Omega 3. In terms of palatability, she always finishes all of the supplement, top dressed over a serving of grain.
This stuff worked wonders on my hard to keep Ottb. He is a stall weaver and is highly prone to ulcers and that doesn't stop this stuff from putting the weight on. I had him on the high dose for quite a while and was so pleased I cut him back. I ended up having to put him back on the higher dose that winter I stopped; but now he has finally kept the weight on and I now only have him on the smartcombo ultra.
This product is great. I've noticed changes in my horse's weight and coat within the first month of using. I will continue using this product! I love that it arrives each month without me having to order it yeah time. Smartpak does a fantastic job also with keeping in touch with you about your order.
Saw results within two weeks. My mare is finally putting on muscle where she needs it. This is an efficient calorie booster, that doesn't make my mare hot. She gets 8 lbs a day of a complete feed, 4 lbs of alfalfa pellets and tons of hay, 12 hours of pasture daily, but we just couldn't get her topline filled out. I've seen such a huge difference in just a month—tried so many other things that didn't work nearly as well (cocosoya, omega horseshine).
This product has lots of fat content without all the extra fillers. I've tried lots of weight gain supplements and this one seems to be working better than the rest. I use it mostly in the winter to keep his weight up without overloading him with grain. He did lose lots of weight one winter but once I got him on SmartPaks, he was back to normal in no time.
We help Rescue horses of all ages type and size. NOTHING gets the poor babies back to health better than Gleam and Gain. It's great for older horses with dental issues a small well. My 24 yr old stallion is shiny and fat.
I put my almost 26 yr old gelding on it recently since he likes to lose weight during the winter/spring months and he looks amazing. His coat quality is beautiful.
