I loved this crust for a pumpkin pie and an apple pie (one crust for each with an oat crumble on top of the apple). The people in my family who can consume gluten said they couldn't tell it was gluten free. It was easy to make, and easy to roll out and transfer to a pan - use parchment paper underneath while rolling and use that to flip it into a pan.
Flaky, delicious. We always get asked for the recipe. I am not gluten-free, but my son is. Though he no longer lives at our home, we have continued to use this mix. I did have problems with other gluten free crusts falling apart, but not this one. My only concern is that it has been much harder to find in stores.
I love glutino gluten free pantry perfect pie crust mix. It is flaky and easy to make. My family likes this pie crust more than crusts made with wheat flour. I have been looking for it in the stores in Yuma, AZ and Salt Lake City, Utah for more than a year now. Please bring it back!!!
As other people noted, this is an amazing pie crust that almost perfectly mirrors traditional crusts. I've pulled off lattice crust tops with it, when so many other mixes are limp, crumbly, or taste like the box the mix comes in. Initially at a local co-op, then I had to search to a bougie store across town, and now I've gone to buying it a case at a time online. I seriously don't know why distribution is so hard, particularly as stores carry other (inferior) pie crusts, AND other Glutino products. Savory pies, sweet pies, fancy cut out top crusts, this stuff does it all.
I've used this mix for years (even before Glutino bought out original company. Wife is celiac, but whole family loves the crust, daughter raves about it. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere near where we now live (hilton Head SC). Was hoping to make an Apple pie for family for Thanksgiving but looking VERY unlikely now.
This is an amazing pie crust and also universal for so many more recipes. But I have one question; is there some sort of an egg replacer that would?
I don't understand any negative reviews. My family loves this pie crust. Flake and rolls out beautifully. I pulses Ingredients briefly in a food processor. I'm trying to figure out why I can not find this anymore.
We missed being able to make our favorite quiches. This pie crust is perfect and very easy to make! Can't wait to try baking an orchard fresh apple pie as well!
First time buyer, have pie in the oven now. But package says four 8 inch pie crusts. There is no way that is possible. I used half the product to make one bottom crust for my pumpkin pie. There was very little left from my 8 inch pie tin. I had planned to make a two crust mincemeat pie but only have enough for the bottom, none for a top crust. Please correct your packaging. Luckily I had another brand that I could make but I challenge your test kitchen to create 4 crusts out of this package mix.
I wish that I could say that this pie crust was wonderful, but it wasn't. I spent a great deal of time on it, followed the directions exactly, and the taste of the crust overwhelmed the delicious apple content. It looked perfect when I took it out of the oven. Unfortunately, it was inedible.
