A wonderful sleep aide

I use this (along with the Valerian/Hops/Camomile supplement) to keep me from waking during the night. I have definitely noticed that on nights when I take this I do not wake during this night but on nights that I have forgotten it I will wake occasionally.

Glycine powder is an ideal Amino Acid Powder to stir, shake, or blend into any kind of nutritious drink you want to make. It mixes easily, quickly, and completely, has a nice, sort of neutral, sweet natural taste, and is good for you in many ways throughout the body. Also, it is reasonably priced. It's all good. For me, Glycine Powder is an 'automatic' to use along with several other Amino Acid Powders (L-Glutamine, L-Lysine, AKG L-Arginine), as well as Vitamin C Powder, MSM Powder, Spirulina or Chlorella Powder, Maca Powder, Organic Cacao Powder, - - - a tsp of each, - - - and all built on a foundation of 4 heaping tsps of Whole Psyllium Husks, and all stirred into a good size glass of cold water. This combination of ingredients, or others of your choice, could just as easily be shaken in a tight sealing jar, or mixed in a blender. I find no flavor issue with this 'cocktail' using water as the liquid medium. It is actually surprisingly good due to the inherent natural flavors of the natural ingredients. However, 100% Pure Organic Pomegranate Juice is a great, delicious and nutritious medium for this 'cocktail,' too. I slam it down immediately, before the Psyllium Husks have time to thicken up. Oh, I also add about a third of a dropper of Lugol's Iodine, and usually a full dropper of 4 herb liquid concentrates. Everything bought from Swanson Health Products, of course. This makes a fabulous 'health cocktail' that makes me feel really good that I did something this really good for myself every day. You can read up on Glycine, and find out how versatile and useful it is throughout the body. (I don't want my review here to get 'busted' for stating anything too definitively.) I have used a couple of different brands of Glycine Powder that I buy regularly from Swanson. Both are excellent. I find this NOW brand to be a handy size and a good buy. The Nature's Life brand is a little more granular, and NOW's is a bit powdery. Six of one, half a dozen of the other - - - both fine. I'm okay using either one. I have stated this before, but I continually find it to be true that NOW does an excellent job with their Powder and Liquid Products across the board. Works for me.

Based on an article by Dr Johnathan Wright, I have been using Gycine for at least a month - take 3 grams (3/4 tsp) immediately before going to bed. I am sleeping much better and waking up refreshed and with energy. Also use melatonin.

Am on my second container. The first was sweeter and of a consistency more like fine granules -- like vitamin C powder, or even finely ground sugar. The second is far less sweet and has a texture much more like powdered sugar. The second batch is not as effective for glucose control, either! Not sure what is going on, but it's inconsistent, for me. Also the first container had a screw-on lid, and this second one has the pop-it-shut (maybe, if you're lucky) kind that NOW is switching to. I have probiotics with that kid type and the container NEVER stays shut! This one will fall apart toward the end of the bottle; this kind either doesn't shut or doesn't last for the full quantity to be used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought now glycine capsules and was extremely disappointed. It constipated me and when it did pass ,it felt like glass crystals leaving my gi tract. I also bought magnesium glycinate,not sure I want to try it.
