Golden - Retarder - 8 oz.

I put a few drops of this in my water spray bottle, then spray my acrylic paint after I've put some out on the palette. Keeps it from skinning over too fast. Especially valuable for plein air painting.

It works the way I want it to work. Wonderful product.

Adding a small amount of the Retarder to acrylic paint allows you to move the paint around on the substrate with beautiful results. By slowing down the drying time, I've found the options expand in the creative process.

It does exactly what it states. But does take forever to dry. Excellent for pouring paint. Wonderful effect.

Works well to keep acrylic paints from drying too quickly. Allows the user to blend colors on the canvas or other medium. It's Golden so it's good stuff. Not suitable for airbrushing as this drying retarder is fairly thick.

Not crazy about this retarder, it gives the paint a weird texture that is hard to describe, it's kind of a "dry, tacky" feel to it and the 6 part paint, 1 part retarder ratio makes it difficult to just use a small amount of paint. I also don't feel that it extends the drying time as much as expected, I would say not even doubled. Surprisingly for a Golden product, I usually find them a superior quality and don't have any issues except for maybe price.

I purchased this because I am experimenting with laying very watery paints on canvas. It does help the paint to lie on the canvas and not bead up
