Miss Dove's lifetime reward for great teaching.
This is a great movie because of the lessons that it teaches. Miss Dove was a dedicated teacher who never married; instead, she dedicated herself to her teaching and her students. She became beloved by many students because of the lessons she taught them that helped them live good lives. When she faces a crisis with her health, she is amazed at how many former students gather around her to share that what she taught them has helped them live better lives. Outwardly, she seems stern and demanding. However, her former students have realized that she has loved them by her expectations for them to be their best and by her uncompromising standards of getting a good education.

A MOVIE VERY WORTH SEEING!
I got this as a gift for someone.I HAVE LOVED THIS MOVIE FOR OVER 19 YEARS!JENNIFER JONES IS UNIFORMALLY SUPERB IN THE TITLE ROLE!SHE JUST STEPPED OFF THE PAGES OF THE BOOK!NO ONE ELSE CAN PLAY "MISS DOVE"!

A MUST SEE MOVIE!
I HAVE LOVED THIS MOVIE FOR OVER 20 YEARS!I bought it for a co-worker as a Christmas Gift.I have read the book several times.I have read the play several times too.There was a TV Version done of the movie that aired on The Twentieth Century Fox Hour.I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!

I love the movie, but I am going to send it back. The movie kept stalling and messing up only in two parts . I even tried it on another dvd player, it didnt help it. I hope to exchange it.
